Baron Corbin Announces Free Agency – As the world celebrates the start of 2025, former WWE star Baron Corbin, also known as Tom Pestock, is embarking on a new chapter in his career. Corbin recently confirmed via Twitter that his WWE contract has officially expired, marking the end of his tenure with the company. WWE reportedly informed Corbin months ago that his deal would not be renewed.
Corbin, who debuted on WWE’s main roster in 2016 after a successful run in NXT, achieved notable accomplishments during his tenure. He captured the Money in the Bank briefcase, won the King of the Ring tournament, and held the United States Championship. In NXT, he was a two-time Tag Team Champion and was known for his consistent presence under Vince McMahon’s creative leadership.
After exploring new directions for his character in NXT, Corbin returned to the main roster in 2024, but his momentum seemed to stall as WWE didn’t capitalize on his return.
Fightful previously reported that Corbin, along with Tyler Breeze and AJ Francis, was seen backstage at AEW’s Worlds End pay-per-view event last Saturday night, sparking speculation about his next move.
On Twitter, Corbin officially addressed his free-agent status, sharing a lighthearted yet optimistic statement:
“I’m officially no longer under contract since I was not fired. I was told they were not extending. So if you’re making a horror movie, let me know ha ha ha ha. New year, no contract, let’s see what we can create.”
With Corbin now free to explore opportunities beyond WWE, fans are eager to see what the future holds for the accomplished and versatile performer.
