WWE Considering Future Event in Japan – WWE has been expanding its global reach in 2024 by hosting more Premium Live Events (PLEs) outside of the United States, with Japan now potentially in line for its own major event. WWE has already hosted several international PLEs this year, including Money in the Bank in Canada, Bash in Berlin in Germany, and the Elimination Chamber in Australia.
WWE’s strategy of holding these events abroad is driven by the substantial site fees that countries are willing to pay, providing both WWE and host cities with economic benefits. This approach mirrors the U.S. model, where cities bid to host PLEs for a significant economic boost.
According to a report from WrestleVotes on SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, there is a strong push within WWE to host a future event in Japan. The company sees great potential in the Japanese market, especially following the success of its recent tour in the country. Additionally, WWE’s growing roster of Japanese talent adds to the appeal of holding a PLE in Japan, signaling that a major event could be on the horizon.
“I think Japan definitely gets something in the future. I know there’s a big push internally for the Japanese market. There’s a lot of Japanese talent on the roster. And I think the last tour they just had over there in Japan was very successful as well.”
