Baron Corbin Explains His Return To NXT – On the May 30 episode of WWE NXT, Carmelo Hayes beat Noam Dar to retain the NXT Championship, but he was attacked by Corbin after the match. The former King of the Ring dropped Hayes with the End of Days and posed with the title to end the show.
Corbin came to the ring at the beginning of tonight’s NXT episode. He looked back on his journey on the main roster up to this point and noted that things had changed. Corbin described how members of the NXT roster were soft and weak, and they didn’t show him the respect he deserved. Corbin vowed to make them all respect him. He also made it clear that he had his sights set on Hayes’ title.
Ilja Dragunov confronted him and told the former Money in the Bank winner that he was the toughest competitor in NXT. Dragunov challenged Corbin to a match, and he accepted. Trick Williams then took the fight to Corbin and clotheslined him out of the ring.
After Bron Breakker attacked Dragunov backstage, the broadcast team announced that Corbin would face Williams later in the show a match that Corbin won. After the match, Corbin said he is going to Smackdown to be in Money in the Bank, but he will be back next week.
