WWE SmackDown Results – June 4, 2021 – We’re live from the WWE ThunderDome at Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, as Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman slowly make their way to the ring. Their entrance took exactly five minutes!
Roman is handed the microphone and he waits for the chants to stop.
Roman says he believes in being very direct about how he is feeling. Roman says last Friday, by the end of the night, he was not happy. With the counsel from a wise man and a full week to chew on it, I changed my position on this tag team championship opportunity that my cousins, the Usos, have tonight. It is no secret I am the centerpiece here and it all revolves around me. I am a giver. I allowed this to happen. Let’s be very clear. Jimmy, you said it all last week and I am sure you are feeling it right now. You said you were going to win, you better win. Roman says, let’s not waste any more time since I have a lot on my plate. Roman tells the Wise Man to get his cousins.
The Usos’ music plays and Jimmy and Jey Uso make their way to the ring.
Roman tells Jimmy it is his turn to acknowledge him. Jimmy says he thought he did already. At Hell in a Cell, when you choked me and my brother out. That is not what it is about tonight. It is about becoming 7 time champions and locking down the tag team division. Roman nods his head and he sighs. He wishes them luck. He says you called the shot and he gets that. Roman says he gets the job done. If you say you are going to win, make sure you win. You know this. Our whole family is watching. Get the job done and bring me the titles once it is over.
Rey and Dominik Mysterios make their way to the ring as we go to commercial.
Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio vs. The Usos for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships
Jimmy and Dominik start things off and they lock up. Jimmy with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Dominik with a drop kick and arm drag into an arm bar. Rey tags in and Dominik gingerly power bombs Rey onto Jimmy for a near fall. Jey tags in and they hit a double back elbow and a double elbow drop for a near fall. Jey with a back breaker and he gets a near fall. Rey with a head scissors to Jey and Rey with a knee. Jimmy tags in and Jey with a flapjack while Jey drops Rey on the top rope for a near fall.
Roman watches on his monitor in his dressing room.
Jimmy with a reverse chin lock. Jimmy with a dragon whip for a near fall. Jimmy chokes Rey in the ropes and Jey with a punch while the referee warns Jimmy. Jey tags in and they make a wish on Rey. Rey rolls to the floor and Jey goes to the floor. Jey with a back drop driver onto the ringside barrier. They return to the ring and Jimmy tags in. Jey ties up Rey and Jimmy with a kick. Jimmy stands on the abdomen and stomps on the chest. Jimmy with a reverse chin lock and Rey goes for an O’Connor Roll. Jey tags in and Rey kicks Jey off the apron. Rey sends Jimmy to the floor and then Rey goes for a sliding splash but Jey catches Rey and hits a Samoan Drop onto the announce table.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Jey kicks and chokes Rey in the corner. Jey with a running hip into the corner. Jimmy tags in and he goes up top and he hits a double sledge after Jey gives Rey a back breaker. Jimmy holds Rey and Jey with a kick to the midsection. Rey with a drop toe hold to Jey into the turnbuckles. Jimmy tags in and he keeps Super Dom from tagging in. Jey with a tag and he hits a diving head butt. Rey is sent into the turnbuckles. Jey misses a splash and hits the ring post, but Jimmy tags in. Rey with a kick to Jimmy and he kicks Jey while Jimmy goes shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Rey crawls across the ring and Dominik tags in.
Dominik with a suicide dive onto Jimmy and Jey. Dominik sends Jimmy back in and hits a springboard cross body for a near fall. Dominik with a neck breaker to Jey but Jimmy with a thrust kick. Jimmy with an Irish whip and Donminik floats over. Dominik with a double jump tornado DDT for a near fall. Jimmy crotches Dominik and connects with a head butt. Dominik punches Jimmy but Jey tags in. Dominik leaps over Jimmy and Rey is not there for the tag. Jey with a Samoan drop for a near fall.
Jimmy tags in and they set for a double super kick but miss and then they both go over the top rope when Dominik drops down. Rey with a seated splash to Jey but Jimmy with a super kick. JImmy with an enzuigiri to Dominik. Dominik with a drop toe hold but Jimmy gets off the ropes and hits a super kick. Jimmy goes for a splash but Dominik gets his boots up and gets the three count with a rollup.
Winners: Dominik Mysterio & Rey Mysterio
After the match, Jimmy claims that his shoulder was up and the replay shows that the shoulder is up.
We see Roman in his dressing room and he wants them brought to him… NOW.
— Seth Rollins is in the back with Kayla Braxton and they will talk about the Cesaro situation.
We go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Jimmy tells Roman that they were cheated because his shoulder was up. Roman says they lost to a child and worst of all, you called your shot and you said you would win. What did I say about this representation. All I care about is that there is still time left in this show. You better go to Adam Pearce, Sonya Deville, or whoever else and fix this. Before you go, I want you to understand my position. You are six time tag team champions who made Wrestlemania once. In less than a year, Jey closed the show, held his head high for the world to see. He asks Jimmy if he understands his position when he looks at Jey. Jey tells Roman he isn’t Jimmy and Roman says the way things are going, it doesn’t matter.
Backstage:
Kayla is with Seth Rollins. She asks him about what he did to Cesaro a few weeks ago. Kayla mentions that Cesaro always comes back. Seth says that he sees what Kayla is trying to do. He says he doesn’t owe her or the WWE Universe anything. Not my time or an answer to your leading question. Kayla says it does not take away the fact that Cesaro will not back down. What happens when Cesaro comes back to Smackdown. Seth takes the microphone and he hands it to Kayla.
Backstage:
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins talk about the Mysterios and Chad Gable shows up. Chad wants to talk about a downward trend that he is seeing. He says that profits are down. Montez, you have lost at least six inches on your frog splash. Angelo, your Sky High looks like a grounded medium. Look what I have done for Otis. You need professional management from an Olympian. Montez says they are insulted and Angelo and Montez tell Chad no.
— Carmella makes her way to the ring for a match against Liv Morgan. During her entrance we see a video where Carmella says that you have never seen anyone like her. She says she is gorgeous and fire. She is the most beautiful woman in WWE. You will see that when I am in the ring with Liv Morgan. Back to commercial.
— We are back..stage and Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville are in the office when the Usos break in. Adam says the referee made a mistake but his decision is final. Sonya says they will take the matter under advisement and let them know of their decision.
Carmella vs. Liv Morgan
Before the match, Liv says it is so cute that Carmella says she is the best looking in WWE. She says that Carmella is a 7 but she can make her a ten with a Liv Morgan Makeover.
Carmella pie faces Liv a few times and Carmella runs away from Liv and then Liv pulls Carmella to the floor and into the ringside barrier. Liv sends Carmella into the ringside barrier again. Liv sends Carmella into the apron many times. Carmella with a kick to Liv. Carmella with elbows in the corner. Carmella with a snap mare and she gets a near fall. Liv with an Irish whip and elbow into the corner but she misses a second one when Carmella move. Liv with boots to the back and she sends Carmella into the turnbuckles. Liv gets a near fall.
Carmella sends Liv to the mat when Liv gets caught in the ropes. Carmella with Code of Silence and Liv taps out.
Winner: Carmella
After the match, Carmella demands to be announced as the most beautiful woman in all of WWE.
— Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair walks in the back as we go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and we see Dominik and Rey Mysterio leaving the building but Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville stop them. Adam says the referee made a mistake and Sonya says that The Usos deserve another opportunity. Adam says they will defend the titles again… tonight! They are ok with the decision and make their way back to the locker room.
In the Arena:
Bianca says ever since she beat Sasha Banks and won this title at Wrestlemania, Bayley has only laughed.. The WWE Universe is not laughing with Bayley, they are laughing at her. What is so funny? Bianca says that laugh is getting to her. Is Bayley the first to try her? People would tell her that she is doing too much and that she was a show off. They called her ‘manish’ because she was so muscular. She left them in the dust after winning trophy after trophy and championship after championship. She says she has dealt with the teasers, the doubters, and the bullies, but she has never had anyone laugh in her face. That is utter disrespect.
Bianca tells Bayley if you are that committed, I challenge you. I want you to take your cackling self and meet me in the ring at Hell in a Cell. I promise you won’t be laughing then. Bianca looks around to see if Bayley is going to make her way to the ring or attack her from behind.
We hear a laugh in the building and Bayley is on the TitanTron. She asks Bianca if she wants her to come out and give her an answer. The world does not revolve around you. I am not even there. I am here, via satellite. This is my oasis and sanctuary. It is where I find peace so I don’t say things that I don’t mean to say. I accept your challenge. I will be laughing after Hell in a Cell, but I won’t be the only one laughing.
Bayley has infested the screens in the Thunderdome.
Backstage:
Montez and Angelo are in the back and Otis paces in front of them. Otis tells Angelo and Montez that Chad was trying to help and you insulted them. He says that Angelo and Montez owe Chad an apology. Montez tells Otis that Chad is holding him back. What have you accomplished since Chad alligned with you. Angelo tells Otis he should get his money back. Otis attacks Montez and Angelo.
We go to commercial.
King Baron Corbin vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
We go back to the ring and King Baron Corbin is out, still seething over his crown. We see recent happenings between Corbin, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs. Corbin is even more upset now. Boogs appears on the stage with his guitar and speakers now. He introduces himself, then the King of Strong Style. Boogs starts playing Nakamura’s entrance as he makes his way to the stage, still wearing Corbin’s crown. Nakamura gets some pyro as we see McAfee standing on the announce table enjoying the music.
The bell rings and they go at it. Corbin unloads on Nakamura in the corner. Boogs is watching from ringside. Nakamura comes back with a big knee for a 2 count. Corbin comes right back and levels Nakamura. Corbin talks some trash and drops big blows on Nakamura. Nakamura pulls Corbin into an arm bar out of nowhere.
Corbin breaks the arm bar by getting the bottom rope. Nakamura with knee strikes now. Corbin slides under the bottom rope and drops Boogs at ringside.
Corbin runs right back in and gets dropped by a Nakamura clothesline for a 2 count. Corbin comes right back and rolls Nakamura up for the pin to win, using a handful of tights.
Winner: King Corbin
After the match, Corbin immediately goes to ringside and grabs the crown off the announce table. Corbin quickly retreats to the ramp but Boogs grabs his leg and trips him while he’s still down. Nakamura comes over and takes the crown back after delivering a kick. Nakamura places the crown back on his head and celebrates up the ramp as Boogs plays his guitar. Corbin continues to seethe.
Backstage:
We see Owens walking backstage now, heading to the ring. Azeez suddenly attacks from nowhere. Azeez destroys Owens and goes to deliver the Nigerian Nail but officials stop him and back him off. Azeez may be banned from ringside tonight but he’s attacked Owens before the match. We see Crews standing there and he’s all smiles. Crews walks off as WWE Producer Jamie Noble checks on Owens. Referees continue holding Azeez back as we go to commercial.
Kevin Owens vs. Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship
Despite the attack from Azeez, Kevin Owens make his way to the ring and he’s ready (well, almost) to fight!
Owens with a punch but Crews with a shot to the ribs and a back breaker. Crews with punches and a suplex for a near fall. Crews with a kick to the midsection and a forearm. Crews with a knee to the midsection. Crews with punches to the midsection. Crews with a hard Irish whip. Crews punches Owens and Owens with a kick and clothesline. Owens with a back senton but he cannot capitalize.
Owens goes for the pop up power bomb and Crews leaps over Owens and kicks Owens. Owens ducks down and Crews goes over the top rope to the floor. Owens sets for a dive to the floor but he goes down after coming off the ropes. Owens is dropped on the apron and Crews with an Olympic Slam on the floor as we go to commercial.
We are back and Crews stands over Owens and he stomps on Owens. Crews with a knee to the midsection as Owens comes off the ropes. Owens with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Owens with a punch but Crews with a kick. Crews with another overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Crews with a German suplex for a near fall. Owens with a German suplex and both men are down. Owens with forearms and Crews backs Owens into the corner. Crews puts Owens on the turnbuckles. Crews sets for a superplex but Owens blocks it and Owens with a head butt to send Crews to the mat. Owens with a swanton but he lands on Crews’ knees.
Crews with an enzuigiri and a wrist clutch German suplex for a near fall. Crews with a standing moonsault for a near fall. Crews goes up top and misses a frog splash. Owens with a thrust kick and Crews goes shoulder first into the ring post. Owens with a super kick and a pop up power bomb for a near fall. Owens goes up top and Crews rolls tothe apron. Owens punches Crews from the turnbuckles and Crews gets Owens up and hits a Death Valley Driver on the apron. Crews rolls Owens back into the ring and gets the three count.
Winner: Apollo Crews
After the match, Commander Azeez celebrats with Apollo Crews on the stage while Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring and he hits a Helluva Kick. Zayn tells Owens that he did to Kevin what Kevin did to him before. Sami kicks Owens again.
— The Street Profits are in the back and Montez talks about what Otis did. Angelo tells Otis better stay out of their business. Montez says they are going to send Otis to the dump where he belongs and they will send Chad with him. Back to commercial.
— We are back and The Street Profits will face Alpha Academy next week on Smackdown.
Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio vs. The Usos for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships “Redux”
Jimmy and Dominik start things off and Jimmy misses a punch and Dominik with punches. Jimmy with a back elbow and a series of near falls. Jimmy with a chop and Jey tags in. Jey with a foerarm into the corner. Jey with a slam and he gets a near fall. Dominik punches Jimmy and Hey but Dominik misses a few clotheslines. Jey with a neck breaker and Dominik goes to the floor. Jey with a suicide dive as we go to commercial.
Jey with punches and he gets a near fall. Jey with a reverse chin lock. Dominik with elbows and Jey with an uppercut. Jey tries to send Dominik into the turnbuckles but Dominik counters and he sends Jey into the turnbuckles. Jimmy and Rey tag in and Rey with punches to Jey and Jimmy. Reyw ith a springboard cross body for a near fall. Jimmy with a back elbow and Jey tags in. Rey with a rana but Jimmy makes the tag and goes for a rollup but Rey rolls through and kicks Jimmy. Rey with a drop kick to Jimmy and a sliding splash onto Jimmy.
Jey tries to attack Rey on the floor but Rey moves and Jey hits the ring post. Rey goes up top and hits a head scissors that sends Jimmy into the ropes and Rey with a 619. Dominik tags in and he goes up top but Roman with a Superman Punch and the referee calls for the bell.
Winners by DQ: Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio
After the bell, Rey attacks Reigns but Reigns levels him with a big Spear. Reigns screams at The Usos as they recover, about having to clean up their mess. Fans boo as the referee checks on Rey and asks Reigns what he’s doing. Dominik is down on the outside. Reigns tosses Rey out of the ring, landing hard on the floor. Reigns grabs Dominik and launches him into the steel ring steps. He then launches Rey into the barrier again, then Dominik into the barrier.
Reigns grabs half of the steel steps and rams them into Dominik’s face as he tries to get back up. Reigns continues yelling at The Mysterios now. He drops Rey with half of the steel steps with a big shot to the face. Fans chant “you suck!” now as Reigns tosses Rey over the barrier. Reigns unloads on Dominik against the barrier with right hands. Reigns brings Dominik back into the ring and mounts him with rights. The Usos have recovered now as they sit up in the corners and watch the assault. Paul Heyman is also watching at ringside, holding the Universal Title.
Reigns chokes Dominik out with a Guillotine now. Dominik screams and taps but there’s nobody to help. Jimmy yells at Reigns to stop, saying that’s enough, don’t do it like this. Reigns discards Dominik to the mat and stares Jimmy down now. Jimmy tells him not like this. Jimmy exits the ring as Reigns looks on. Jimmy yells at Jey to join him. Jey hesitates a bit but goes to exit the ring. Reigns stops him. Jey just looks down as Reigns looks back and forth between Jey and Jimmy. Reigns is furious at the sight of Jey wanting to join his brother, but Jey is still standing there at the ropes. Reigns goes back to Dominik and mounts him with more big punches. Reigns lifts Dominik and drops him with a big powerbomb in the middle of the ring as SmackDown on FOX goes off the air.
