The Pinnacle is AEW’s new faction that’s led by MJF and features Tully Blanchard, FTR, Wardlow, and Shawn Spears.
The company has been planning this group for a while. Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the promotion had plans in place for the faction since FTR debuted in June 2020.
Originally, the idea was to do it after FTR finished their program with The Young Bucks, but it took longer than that.
Meltzer wrote, “The plans for this group date back to the arrival of FTR, as this was the idea for them after they did the first Young Bucks match that had to be done.”
All Elite Wrestling recently filed for the trademark rights to the name. MJF started the faction after he was kicked out of Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle group.
