COVID-19 Outbreak in WWE Reportedly Worse Than Expected

COVID-19 Outbreak in WWE Reportedly Worse Than Expected
As noted, today's WWE RAW taping has been nixed. The situation is related to the current positive coronavirus tests.

Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that "WWE tested everybody on the Raw side and they did not like the results so they are retesting everybody and they are moving the show until tomorrow. I have zero numbers … whatever number it is, it was enough that they didn’t tape today."

"I was told that tomorrow is also the day that a lot of other results are going to come back….the feeling is tomorrow is gonna be another bad day in terms of results."

Alvarez pointed out that WWE producer Jamie Noble revealed that they have tested positive for COVID-19. Noble was in the ring with many wrestlers to help them go over their matches so now everyone is worried that they got the virus from him.

“There is more that I heard but I have not confirmed it yet. If you think what I just told you is bad, it’s bad. It is bad. I will tell you as much as I am able to tell you and if I hear more throughout the show, I’ll let you know.”

So far, only a few people in WWE have said publicly that they have tested positive for COVID-19. Renee Young, Adam Pearce, Jamie Noble and Kayla Braxton are among the names that have said publicly that they tested positive.

There are many more who have tested positive but are keeping quiet. Alvarez noted that WWE does not want anyone to go public about their positive test.

“I can tell you for a fact that the company doesn’t want anyone tweeting about it if they are positive,” Alvarez said. “I have heard other names that have tested positive that have not tweeted about it.”

The in-ring talent and staff are not the only people who have tested positive. Alvarez added, “There are some friends and family that are now affected.”

Until this week, wrestlers were discouraged from wearing masks but they will be allowed to wear them going forward.
