WWE RAW Results – Oct 9, 2017

WWE RAW Opener:

A video package opens focusing on last week’s match between The Miz and Roman Reigns for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. We see Reigns taking out the Miztourage and then getting attacked by Sheamus, Cesaro and Miz setting up the DQ finish. The video focuses on Sheamus, Cesaro and Miz doing The Shield triple powerbomb and pose.

The Miz TV:

We go live to Indianapolis where The Miz and Curtis Axel are already in the ring.

Miz welcomes everyone to MizTV. Tonight is The Mizzies Part 2 awards ceremony. He said when you attack one of them you attack them all. Miz said the first Mizzie for perseverance goes to: Curtis Axel. Axel dedicates his award to Bo Dallas. “This is for you, Bo!” Miz says they are thinking of Bo and tells him to get well soon. He then describes last week as the destruction of Roman Reigns. The next Mizzie for Best Supporting Actor goes to: Sheamus and Cesaro. We have a tie. The Miz then points to the entrance area.

Sheamus and Cesaro are out next and head to the ring.

Sheamus says they are honored to accept the award. He says they took The Bar to new heights last week. He thanks the man who made it possible last week – Roman Reigns. Sheamus says he just wanted to beat Reigns down more. Sheamus mocks Reigns some more as Cesaro takes the mic. Cole did mention that Bo is under the weather tonight. Cesaro says Sheamus forgot someone. He thanks RAW Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose as well, for knocking his teeth out and giving them another reason to prove that they are The Bar. Fans pop when Miz mentions The Shield reuniting. Miz says that’s not reality as The Shield was great during their time but they don’t want any of Miz and The Bar. Miz says he and The Bar have changed the landscape of WWE. Miz goes on and presents the final Mizzie, to the guy who led the charge and proved to be the Big Dog of WWE. His name is not Roman Reigns. Miz calls for a drumroll. His name is… The Miz. Miz accepts the award as a “you deserve it” chant starts. Miz dedicates the award to his unborn child and any other child that needs a new role model. The music interrupts and out comes Reigns.

Reigns tells Miz to shut up and is giving them once chance to leave his ring. Miz says Reigns isn’t going to do anything because it is 4 vs. 1. He says rumors of The Shield reuniting his all hype. Reigns adds he didn’t say anything about rumors. Dean Ambrose walks out on a stage and stands next to Reigns. Seth Rollins is out next and stands next to Reigns as well. All three men stare down Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro and Axel from the top of the stage. Big reaction from the crowd in Indianapolis.

Reigns, Ambrose and Rollins walk down and surround the ring. They jump in. Reigns goes after Miz on the outside. Superman to Sheamus. Superman to Cesaro. Rollins with a knee to Sheamus. Reigns, Ambrose and Rollins clear the ring as Miz looks on. They jump out and close in on Miz. They chase Miz back in. Dirty Deeds on Miz. Triple powerbomb on Miz. Reigns, Ambrose and Rollins all do the Shield fist pose above The Miz. Corey Graves says it is time to release the hounds. All three men continue to celebrate inside the ring.

– Still to come, is Sister Abigail alive? The Shield marches up the ramp as we go to commercial.

Jason Jordan vs. Karl Anderson w/ Luke Gallows

Jordan with a takedown early on Anderson and Anderson gets to the ropes to break it up. Jordan with another takedown, Anderson gets up and Jordan again takes him down. Anderson catches Jordan with a big right hand and goes to a side headlock. Jordan catches Anderson on his shoulder and dumps him down face first. Luke Gallows with a distraction on the outside. Anderson kicks out the left knee of Jordan as we head to a break.

During the break, Anderson connected with a spinebuster on Jordan. Back live, Jordan with elbows as Anderson works over his left arm. Jordan with a side back suplex. Jordan drives Anderson to the corner and connects with an overhead belly-to-belly. Jordan with a spear to Anderson in the corner. Another distraction by Gallows. Anderson with a roll up holding the tights. Jordan fights out and knocks Gallows off the ring apron. Anderson crotches himself in the corner. Jordan with a lifting neckbreaker and gets the pinfall.

Winner: Jason Jordan

After the match, Jordan hits the ramp to stand tall as Gallows hits the ring and stares him down. We go to replays. Jordan celebrates on the stage as Gallows and Anderson look on.

– Elias is backstage walking with his guitar. Back to commercial.

Backstage:

We are backs…tage and The Miz is being checked on by medical staff. Kurt Angle walks up and asks Miz if he has any broken bones. Miz mocks him. Angle books Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro vs. The Shield at TLC in two weeks in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.

In the Arena:

Elias is sitting inside the ring with his guitar in hand. He asks who wants to walk with Elias. Elias says one person who doesn’t want to is Apollo Crews. He has a song to sing. Titus O’Neil interrupts Elias walking out and playing a banjo. He asks who wants to walk with Titus Worldwide tonight in Indianapolis. Titus asks everyone to follow Apollo because he has a song for him. He’s about to play banjo for the first time on live TV. We go to commercial.

Elias vs. Apollo Crews w/ Titus O’Neil

Back from the break and Elias is in control, beating on Crews in the corner as Titus cheers him on. Elias focuses on the arm and drops Crews for a pin attempt. Elias keeps control and hits Old School from the top rope.

Crews fights back now. Crews with kicks and a flying forearm. Crews kips up for a pop. Crews drops Elias and hits the standing moonsault for a pin attempt while still selling the arm injury. Elias goes to the floor but Crews follows and attacks. Elias counters and sends Crews into the apron but Crews jumps on the apron. Crews with a moonsault to the floor as Titus gets fired up.

Crews brings it back into the ring with right hands. The referee backs Crews off. Elias takes advantage and drops Crews into the second rope. Elias hits the Drift Away for the pin as JoJo makes the announcement.

Winner: Elias

After the match, Elias stands tall with his guitar as we go to replays. We come back to Titus checking on Crews on the floor while Elias raises his arm.

– WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore is backstage. We go to commercial.

In the Arena:

Back from the break and out comes WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore. Enzo does his usual introduction on the mic. Enzo jumps in the ring and wants to talk about “Sexy Kurt.” He talks about the no-contact clause created to prevent anyone in the “Loserweight” division from touching him or they would be fired. Enzo talks about Kalisto signing with RAW and assaulting him. He reveals Angle has booked a title match for TLC.

Here comes RAW GM Kurt Angle. Angle thanks the crowd for the reaction. Enzo wonders why he thanks the crowd for chanting that he sucks. He has something he needs to talk about with Angle. Enzo pulls out the contract Angle signed. Angle confirms he signed it and agreed to the terms. Enzo wants to know why Kalisto can assault him and then be awarded a championship match at TLC. Angle says he signed Kalisto to a deal after that clause.

Enzo says Angle hustled him. He talks about being the champion for Angle and putting this division on the map finally. Enzo wants Angle to worry about making him happy. Angle does want to make him happy and says forget about the match at TLC because he is going to defend the Cruiserweight Championship against Kalisto tonight. Enzo is not happy. He gives Angle credit for dropping that announcement. Enzo agrees to defend his title, but he will only do it if it takes place in the main event. Angle agrees and they shake hands. Enzo dances to Angle’s music. Before he leaves, Angle tells Enzo that he is going to lift that no-contact clause tonight and announces the title match will be a Lumberjack match.

Braun Strowman walks in the back and we go to commercial.

Braun Strowman vs. Matt Hardy

They lock up and Braun sends Matt to the mat. They lock up again and Matt is sent to the mat again. Matt with a punch but Strowman with a biel. Strowman runs into a boot from Matt and Matt goes to the turnbuckles with a clothesline but it has no impact on Strowman. Strowman pushes Matt away. Hardy goes for a Side Effect but Strowman blocks it and hits a suplex throw on Matt and follows with a shoulder tackle that sends Matt to the floor. We go to commercial.

Back live, Strowman has a headlock applied on Matt. Matt avoids a charge and Strowman hits the corner with force falling to the outside. Back inside, Matt catches Strowman with a tornado DDT off the corner. Matt goes for the Twist of Fate and connects. Matt hooks the leg and Strowman quickly kicks out after a one count. Strowman avoids a second Twist of Fate attempt and chokeslams Matt to the mat. Strowman picks up Matt by his neck and again slams him down with a quick chokeslam. Strowman has Matt up on his shoulders and connects with his powerslam. Strowman hooks the leg and gets the pinfall.

Winner: Braun Strowman

After the match, Strowman tosses Matt out of the ring. Strowman puts Matt on his shoulder and heads up the ramp. The Shield walks out on stage and Strowman drops Matt. The Shield is staring down Strowman. Strowman goes after Reigns and lifts him up sending him into the LED wall. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins go after Strowman. They pull Strowman back. Reigns levels Strowman with a big spear. The Shield stomps away at Strowman on the entrance stage. They look over at the nearby announce table and start clearing it off. The Shield drags Strowman near it. The Shield connect with a triple powerbomb on Strowman crashing him through the announce table! We go to commercial.

Backstage:

Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose are out and they have new Shield T-Shirts. Strowman drops Matt and then he looks at Dean, Roman, and Seth. Strowman grabs Roman and runs him into the TitanTron. Seth and Dean help Roman and Roman with a spear. Seth, Roman, and Dean with punches and then they look at the announce table and adjust it. They pick up Strowman and hit the Cerberus Bomb through the announce table and Strowman falls off the stage to the floor.

In the Arena:

Mickie James heads to the ring and grabs a mic. She talks about returning to WWE and the people in the back not really understanding her. James jokes it might be her age. She realized she has one person to thank for feeling this way: Alexa Bliss. James talks about Alexa spending all her time taking cheap shots at her. She talks about being attacked by Alexa and thinks it is time she jump out of her “booster seat” and put on her big girl pants. James is all woman and doesn’t play games. She adds age isn’t anything but a number and she will make history in two weeks at TLC and become a 7-time WWE Women’s Champion.

Here comes the WWE RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss with something to say. Bliss isn’t here to cause any trouble or make fun of her age. She apologizes and realizes James has been treated unfairly for so long. Bliss talks about spending all weekend putting together a career retrospective and how the young fans may not even know who she is. She introduces a tribute to Mickie James video. The video is in black and white showing superstars of yesteryear. Back live, Bliss is laughing. She tells James to go home and play some shuffle board. Bliss says she will run circles around James at TLC.

Bliss teases going after James, but turns around and leaves. James jumps out and tosses her back inside the ring. James with a few shots, goes for a kick and Bliss bails.

– Still to come, Kalisto vs. Enzo. Back to commercial.

Backstage:

Kurt Angle is with Bayley and Sasha Banks. Kurt is impressed with the video. Bayley asks for the first match against Asuka because she is a welcoming person. Sasha says her versus Asuka would be legit. Alicia Fox shows up and she wants to know why do they get all the opportunities. Alicia screeches and wants to know what she has to do to get noticed. Alicia demands a match against Asuka. Dana Brooke says she feels like she doesn’t even exist. Emma enters and she tells Dana to zip it. Emma reminds us that she started the Women’s Revolution. Kurt has to calm them down and he says they settle things in the ring. They will compete in a Fatal Five Way tonight and the winner faces Asuka at TLC.

Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali vs. The Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher

Kendrick and Alexander start things off. Kendrick has something to say to Alexander while Gallagher pulls Ali off the apron. Kendrick with punches and he sends Alexander into the turnbuckles. Kendrick with punches and Gallagher tags in. Gallagher with a snap mare and a rear chin lock. Gallagher with a drop kick and Kendrick tags in and kicks Cedric and follows with a butterfly suplex and he gets a near fall. Kendrick with punches and kicks and then he distracts the referee to allow Gallagher to interfere.

Gallagher tags in and kicks Alexander. Jack with a front face lock. Gallagher with kicks but he misses a third kick and Alexander with an enzuigiri. Ali tags in and hits a running back elbow or two. Ali with a drop kick. Kendrick tags in and Ali slides into the corner and then kicks Kendrick. Ali with a slingshot rolling neck breaker for a near fall. Ali is sent to the floor. Ali sends Gallagher into the ringside barrier. Ali with a shoulder. Kendrick with a kick and rollup for a near fall. Kendrick hits Sliced Bread #2 for the three count.

Winners: Jack Gallagher and Brian Kendrick

– A video recap airs of The Shield taking out Braun Strowman earlier tonight.

Backstage:

The Miz confronts Kurt Angle. He wants to hold The Shield to their words earlier tonight that they could take on as many people as they want. Miz proposes adding a fourth member to the team at TLC. Angle reluctantly agrees. Miz says he’s already found his fourth partner in two weeks. The door slams open and it’s Braun Strowman. He breathes heavily before leaving.

In the Arena:

Finn Balor makes his way to the ring.

Finn says this is Balor Club in Indianapolis. Last week, Bray Wyatt introduced the world to Sister Abigail. Finn says he is speechless. Bray is like a poison or virus that mutates with all of the lies. Finn says he does not believe it. Finn is desperate for attention and is desperate to instill fear. He is desperate to have the WWE Universe listen to his garbage. Finn says he is not afraid of you. The Balor Club is not afraid of you. The Demon is not afraid of you. He tells Bray to bring on Sister Abigail and the whole family.

We see the rocking chair on the TitanTron and Bray sits down. You may not be afraid of him, but you will be afraid of her. She knew the truth and they turned her into that monster. He was there when she took her final breath and she chose him. They vowed to make them all burn. Now, the Season of the Witch is upon you. She’s here.

We see Bray’s different look from last week and, in a distorted voice, he says you men are all the same and you want to control everything. Bray is different. Bray is special. He has much to learn. He was taught at a young age that the world is an evil place. She promised him that she would be by his side. Here she is to fulfill her promise to her prince. Bray wouldn’t harm a fly, but look at what you did to him. You lied to him. She says she knows about demons. She says call it her speciality. She can turn a demon into a pretty little dandilion. You can’t beat me. She is worse than anything you ever read in your Irish Mythology books. Her touch could have saved you. Her kiss will burn it to the ground. Run.

Bray is back and he is laughing as we go to commercial.

Winner faces Asuka at WWE TLC
Bayley vs. Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox vs. Dana Brooke vs. Emma

We go to the ring and out first comes Sasha Banks. The winner will face Asuka in her RAW debut at WWE TLC. Emma is out next followed by Alicia Fox. Dana Brooke is out next, followed by Bayley. No sign of Nia Jax.

They all start off in the ring and Dana and Sasha square off while Alicia faces Bayley. Emma stands and watches. Dana pulls Sasha to the floor and sends her into the ringside barrier. Emma and Alicia are in the ring and Emma goes into the ropes and Alicia grabs her by the foot. Dana hits Alicia from behind. Emma thinks she is friends with Dana and they double team Alicia. Dana punches Emma and follows with an Irish whip and handspring elbow to Emma and then Alicia. Bayley with forearms to Dana.

Dana with a slam and cartwheel splash and she gets a near fall on Bayley. Dana with a forearm and she gets Bayley on her shoulders but Bayley with a belly-to-belly suplex to eliminate Dana.

Dana Brooke eliminated

Sasha with a rollup on Bayley and Bayley with a forearm to Sasha. Sasha with a forearm. Alicia with an axe kick to Bayley to pin her.

Bayley eliminated

We go to commercial.

We are back and Emma and Alicia kick Sasha. They hit a double suplex on Sasha. Emma tells Alicia to get her and Emma with a rollup for a near fall. Alicia yells at Emma and kicks her. Emma with an Irish whip and Alicia with an elbow. Alicia with a float over sunset flip for a near fall. Sasha with a running drop kick to Emma and Alicia. Sasha with clotheslines to Alicia followed by a drop kick. Sasha with a satellite head scissors to Alicia. Sasha with running knees into the corner. Emma has a kick blocked and Sasha with a kick.

Alicia with an O’Connor Roll to Sasha and Sasha kicks out and sends Alicia into Emma. Sasha with a lungblower and Banks Statement. Alicia taps out.

Alicia Fox eliminated

Emma with a rollup out of nowhere on Sasha for the three count.

Winner: Emma

We go to commercial.

Backstage:

Back from the break and Renee Young is backstage with Finn Balor for comments on what Bray Wyatt did tonight with Sister Abigail. Balor says after seeing Abigail and hearing her words, he fears Bray may have unleashed something awful. Balor heard her words echo through his head, he felt a shiver up his spine and he felt pure evil. But he also felt that he now knows what he has to do. Balor walks off.

– We see more of what The Shield did tonight. Reigns vs. Braun is announced for next week inside a Steel Cage.

– Charly is backstage with Kalisto. He talks about being a kid and being inspired by guys like Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. He knocks Enzo Amore and says he hopes to make Rey and Eddie proud tonight by winning the title.

Lumberjack Match for the WWE Cruiserweight Title: Kalisto vs. Enzo Amore

We go to the ring for tonight’s main event and out comes Cedric Alexander, Akira Tozawa, Tony Nese and Rich Swann to act as Lumberjacks. The others will make their ways out during the commercial break.

Before the match, Enzo Amore insults the Cruiserweights at ringside.

Enzo with a kick when Kalisto wants a test of strength. Enzo with a side head lock. Kalisto tries to send him into the corner but Enzo holds on to the side head lock. Enzo with a shoulder tackle. Kalisto tries for a kick and Enzo avoids him. Enzo does his dance like moves and goes to the floor. Enzo returns to the ring. Kalisto with a drop kick and he goes to the floor. Enzo returns untouched but he has something to say to the lumberjacks. Kalisto with a rollup and Listo Kick. Kalisto with a front face lock and we go to commercial.

We are back and Enzo yells at the lumberjacks for not returning him to the ring when he wants. We see Enzo pulling Kalisto’s head into the rope for the whiplash effect. Enzo with a kick to the ribs and he gets a near fall. Enzo sends Kalisto to the floor but he stays on the apron. Kalisto with a kick and springboard cross body for a near fall. Enzo is sent to the floor. Enzo pushes Ali away and gets back into the ring. Enzo with a rollup that sends Kalisto into the bottom turnbuckle.

Kalisto is sent to the floor and some of the lumberjacks attack Kalisto before sending him back into the ring. Enzo kicks Kalisto in the corner. Enzo with a flatline and he gets a near fall. Enzo with a leg drop and a reverse chin lock. Kalisto tries to escape but Enzo holds on to the side head lock. Enzo sets for a kick to the ribs but he takes too long and Kalisto blocks the kick and he kicks Enzo and hits the spike head scissors and Kalisto gets a near fall.

Kalisto runs into a boot and Enzo with a stomp and he kicks Enzo to the floor but Ali keeps him on the apron. Enzo wants to know what happened and he kicks Ali. Ali gets on the apron and Daivari pulls him off the apron. Ali punches Daivari and the lumberjacks attack each other. Kalisto with an enzuigiri while Enzo is on the turnbuckles. Kalisto superplexes Enzo onto the lumberjacks on the floor.

Enzo tries to crawl away and then he gets into the ring. Kalisto returns to the ring as well. Kalisto sets for Salida Del Sol but Enzo escapes and he hits Eat Defeat but Ali pulls Enzo to the floor. Enzo yells at Ali and Ali says Enzo doesn’t represent them. Enzo clotheslines Ali and then crotches Kalisto. Kalisto with a Spuer Salida Del Sol for the three count.

Winner: Kalisto

The Cruiserweights celebrate with the new champion as we fade to black.
