Former professional wrestler Wildman Jack Armstrong (real name Leonard Ornstein) has passed away at the age of 79 following a recent period of declining health. The news of his passing was confirmed on social media by his longtime close friend and bodybuilding icon Laura Creavalle.
Creavalle had recently traveled to Los Angeles to assist Armstrong as his medical condition began to worsen. In an emotional update to fans and the wrestling community, she confirmed his peaceful passing while reflecting deeply on their multi-decade friendship.
“I’m sorry to announce that I lost my best friend Wild Man Jack Armstrong today,” Creavalle wrote in her tribute. “He was a great wrestler and an even better friend.”
A Legacy Of Kindness Behind The Scenes
Beyond his fierce persona inside the squared circle, Armstrong was known for his incredible generosity toward fellow athletes. Creavalle openly recalled how the wrestling veteran supported her during the incredibly difficult early stages of her professional bodybuilding career.
When she was struggling financially, broke, and facing homelessness in California, Armstrong provided her with a place to live for many years. She noted that the stories of his kindness are simply too many to share, even remembering how he personally bought her very first competitive posing suit in Los Angeles.
