Former WWE star Lacey Evans is officially taking steps toward stepping back between the ropes, with recent video footage confirming the Lacey Evans in-ring wrestling return training is actively underway.
The 36-year-old veteran, now performing under her real name Macey Estrella, shared footage on Sunday showing her running drills and taking bumps at D-Von Dudley’s wrestling academy.
In-Ring Workouts At D-Von Dudley’s Academy
Estrella posted the clip to her official Instagram account, humorously admitting that getting back into squared-circle shape after an extended layoff takes a heavy physical toll.
- Training Location: D-Von Dudley’s Wrestling School
- Status: In-ring conditioning and bump drills
- Personal Reaction: Joked on social media that she was “blown up five minutes” after stepping through the ropes.
The training footage comes five months after Estrella initially teased a comeback in April, when she posted to Instagram stating that she intended to wrestle again without elaborating on specific promotions or dates.
Three Years Away From Active Competition
Estrella has not competed in an official match since July 7, 2023, where she was defeated by Zelina Vega in a dark match prior to a SmackDown taping. Her WWE contract expired shortly thereafter in August 2023.
Originally signing with WWE in 2016, Estrella established herself in NXT before developing her signature “Sassy Southern Belle” persona in 2017. During her seven-year run with the company, she competed in high-profile feuds alongside Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, participated in the inaugural 2017 Mae Young Classic, and earned the 2020 Slammy Award for Female Trash Talker of the Year.
