Ryback says he’s done holding onto any resentment toward CM Punk, more than a decade after their issues became one of wrestling’s most talked‑about backstage stories. The former WWE Superstar addressed the topic on social media this week, making it clear he no longer carries any anger toward the current WWE Champion.
Ryback said he doesn’t see any value in keeping the feud alive.
“CM Punk. Is there any bad blood? No, I don’t hold onto any hate with that man,” Ryback said. “I’ve said what I needed to say on it. He said what he said on it, and it doesn’t make sense to hold onto that forever.”
He added that moving on doesn’t mean the two will ever be close or work together again, but he refuses to let old issues dictate how he feels today.
“That doesn’t mean we’ll ever be friends or work together. It doesn’t serve me to hold onto that hate or that anger.”
Ryback said he still stands by his version of events, but he’s finished revisiting the past.
“I’ve told the truth from the beginning on it. A lot of people love and support me on it. It doesn’t matter what people think. It’s all over with. People will rehash the past. It doesn’t serve me or benefit me, so I’m happy for him on everything. I’m happy he’s back.”
Ryback also expanded on why he refuses to hold onto anger, saying he’s learned to approach situations differently.
“I’ve learned in life it’s better to be happy for people or stay neutral on it because that controls our feelings,” Ryback said. “You’re choosing to get angry over something, right? So why am I? I’m happy for him.”
He even offered praise for Punk, noting that the champion looks to be in some of the best physical condition of his career.
“I think he looks great, and I’m happy for him. He’s gotten in better shape. I’ve found in life, and you’ll hear me repeat this all the time, happiness is a choice, and hating is a choice.”
Ryback’s comments mark a rare moment of closure in a feud that once dominated headlines — and one he now says he’s ready to leave behind for good.
