Nikki Bella has no regrets about turning on Paige at SummerSlam. The WWE Hall of Famer has defended her actions and believes Paige deserved what happened after the shocking betrayal that closed out their tag team match.
Following their loss to Fatal Influence, The Bella Twins appeared to be standing together with their longtime ally Paige. However, the moment quickly changed when Nikki attacked Paige with a forearm, leaving fans stunned and creating one of the biggest surprises from the event.
Shortly after the incident, Nikki appeared on Busted Open Radio and explained why she made the decision to betray Paige. Instead of apologizing, Nikki made it clear that she is focused on achieving her remaining goals in WWE before eventually stepping away from wrestling.

Nikki stated that fans could understand her frustration and questioned whether Paige deserved the punishment she received.
“We have the same vibes. The fans feel me. Sometimes you just get sick of things. I mean, don’t you guys think she deserved what she got?”
Nikki explained that she has reached an important stage in her career where she wants to accomplish specific goals before ending her time in the ring. One of those goals is becoming WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside her sister Brie Bella.
According to Nikki, that ambition played a major role in her decision to turn against Paige.
“I’m sick of a lot of shit, let me tell you. But, you know, it’s very hard when you hit a certain part of your legacy and you have certain things you want to check off before you call it for good. Being a Tag Team Champion with my sister was one of those. I worked really hard.”
Nikki also revealed that watching Paige and Brie develop a close friendship over the previous months created tension. She admitted that she was unhappy with the bond they formed after Paige returned to WWE.
“When Brie came in, Paige came in and thought it was a good thing. Then I sat back and watched them the past 3-4 months really connect, and it just didn’t make me happy.”
From Nikki’s perspective, the attack was not about personal feelings but about making a business decision. She claimed that reaching the top sometimes requires removing obstacles, even when those obstacles are people close to you.
“You know, there are certain ways to get ahead. It is bullshit. When you really want to achieve something, sometimes you just gotta pick people out of your way to get there.”
Nikki continued to embrace her villainous attitude and made it clear she has no regrets about attacking Paige.
“No, I don’t mind. I’ll crush people on that ladder, pick ’em right off. It’s just naturally me. It’s who I am and where I thrive. For me, it was the right decision, and in this industry, let’s take personal out of it, let’s talk about business. For me, last night was business. For me to continue to succeed and actually go on one or two more championship runs before I call it quits, I had to get the b*** out of my way. So that’s what I did, and I don’t regret it. It felt really good. It’s not gonna stop.”*
With Paige promising revenge and Nikki showing no signs of backing down, the rivalry appears far from over. The SummerSlam betrayal has created a new chapter between the two former allies, with both women now having clear reasons to continue their feud.
