Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed haven’t appeared in AEW yet, but the belief inside the industry is that their arrival is coming sooner rather than later. The former New Day duo have been free agents for weeks, and the conversation around their next move has only intensified.
Fightful Select reported that sources wouldn’t outright confirm the signings, but made it clear the belief inside the industry is that both men are expected to join AEW soon.

There’s no confirmed debut date, but that hasn’t stopped speculation about All In at Wembley Stadium on August 30. Kingston and Creed are already free of their 90‑day non‑compete clauses, and their first moves post‑WWE have only fueled the idea that AEW is the next stop.
Chris Jericho recently announced both men for his Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea in November, leaning heavily into their old act while promoting them. That appearance is notable, but it doesn’t feel like the main event of their post‑WWE chapter.
Self Made Pro previously reported that Kingston and Creed want to reinvent themselves and explore ideas they never got the chance to use in WWE. He also said they already have wrestlers in AEW they’re interested in working with.
“Long term, I’ve been given the implication and impression that they want to try something that they haven’t been able to and basically reinvent themselves. I’ve been given the impression that they have a new presentation that they want to test in AEW. I also was given the impression that there’s some guys that they already have on their list of people that they want to work with.”
Nothing has been officially announced, and AEW hasn’t confirmed that Wembley will be the moment. But this situation has moved beyond simple fantasy booking. Kingston and Creed aren’t just two former WWE stars who might fit in AEW — they’re two major names who appear to be actively preparing for a new chapter.
Whether AEW waits until after All In or decides to make a massive statement at Wembley remains to be seen. What’s clear now is that the expectation has shifted: Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are likely headed to AEW, and the countdown may already be underway.
