Jinder Mahal shared a pair of strong opinions about WWE’s current landscape in a new “Hot WWE Takes of the Week” video posted to Instagram.
The former WWE Champion pushed back against criticism of Roman Reigns and offered a creative pitch for World Heavyweight Champion Oba Femi.
Mahal said the idea that Reigns is overrated doesn’t hold up, arguing that few performers can match what Reigns brings to the table.
“Roman Reigns is not overrated,” Mahal said. “Name anybody who can compete with Roman Reigns in terms of presentation, in terms of psychology, in terms of communication, in terms of aura.”
He added that fans may have felt differently about Reigns before the pandemic, but the current version of the Tribal Chief is operating on another level.
Mahal then shifted to Oba Femi, suggesting WWE should turn the powerhouse heel and let him dominate the roster until fans naturally begin supporting him. He compared the idea to Brock Lesnar’s early run and said pairing Femi with Paul Heyman would complete the act.
“Turn Oba Femi heel,” he said. “Have him destroy everybody and let the crowd naturally turn him babyface. Put him with Paul Heyman.”
