Update on Mick Foley AEW Status, Expected to Be Regular Presence

Update on Mick Foley AEW Status – Mick Foley may now be part of All Elite Wrestling, but he is not expected to appear on this week’s episode of Dynamite.

According to PWInsider, Foley will not be present at Wednesday’s Dynamite/Collision taping in Philadelphia at the Liacouras Center due to a pre-existing commitment that was scheduled before he officially joined AEW. Despite his absence this week, the expectation is that Foley will be regularly involved in AEW programming moving forward.

“We are told he will be around regularly. I am told he won’t be in Philly this week as he has a pre-existing responsibility that was locked in before he signed but the impression I have been given is that he’ll be a regular part of AEW programming.”

Foley made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing, where he served as co-host of the pre-show broadcast. The appearance also included an in-ring angle that saw MJF deliver a low blow to Foley. Later that night, MJF went on to defeat Darby Allin to capture the AEW World Championship.

Following the event, Foley took to social media to express his excitement about joining AEW, signaling a positive start to his new role with the company.

It remains unclear how physically involved Foley will be on-screen. Tony Khan has indicated he would be open to Foley competing in AEW if the opportunity arises. However, Foley previously abandoned plans for a final match at age 60 after suffering a concussion during training.

Mick Foley AEW Status Update

Looking ahead, Foley could play a role at AEW’s newly announced AEW Redemption 2026 pay-per-view scheduled for July 26 in Montreal. Khan noted that Foley is likely to handle hosting duties for the event, though his current schedule includes a convention appearance in Raleigh, North Carolina on the same date.

“There’s a good chance Mick could come. He’s doing a lot of the AEW events, and I’m sure he’s going to want to be there. I can’t say 100 percent for certain, but I think there’s a very high likelihood that Mick will be attending and hosting the event in Montreal.”

While Foley will miss this week’s show, all indications suggest he will be a consistent on-screen presence for AEW in the weeks ahead.
