Tony Khan spoke with the media on Thursday to promote Sunday’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view and provided several updates on company business and talent.

During the call, Khan shared a brief update on Samoa Joe, confirming the former AEW World Championship holder is recovering from injuries and hopes to return soon. Joe has been sidelined since defeating Mike Bailey on the January 21 episode of AEW Dynamite. A February report indicated he was in concussion protocol, while Joe himself said last week that he expects to be back “sooner than later.”

Tony Khan Discusses MyAEW and PPV Strategy

Khan was also asked about MyAEW and whether it could eventually become a domestic PPV provider given the uncertain future involving Paramount Global and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Khan noted he maintains strong relationships with both companies, referencing his ties to Paramount through his involvement with the National Football League as well as his respect for Paramount owner David Ellison. He emphasized that MyAEW is unrelated to AEW’s partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery.

Instead, he said the platform is designed primarily to expand AEW’s international reach, noting that MyAEW is currently available in more than 150 countries. Domestically, AEW’s strategy remains focused on directing fans to HBO Max for pay-per-view events, while also maintaining other distribution partners. Khan did not reference Triller during the discussion.

ROH Future and Celebrity Appearances

When asked about the television future of Ring of Honor, Khan said the company continues to generate strong revenue from the ROH streaming service. He added that he is still exploring additional opportunities for the brand, particularly following the ongoing media industry changes involving Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. Khan also said he is looking forward to the next round of ROH tapings scheduled for next weekend.

Khan also addressed the presence of celebrity guest Big Boom AJ in AEW and whether it could set the tone for future appearances by outside personalities. Khan highlighted AJ’s wrestling background, noting that he trained at Ohio Valley Wrestling, which many fans may not realize. He also mentioned that AJ’s influence has helped attract attention from audiences, especially when appearing alongside Big Justice and The Rizzler.

Tony Khan on AEW’s Relationship With WBD

Finally, Khan responded to questions about speculation that TKO Group Holdings’s relationship with Paramount could eventually force AEW to seek new media partners. Khan reiterated that he maintains strong relationships with David Zaslav and other executives at Warner Bros. Discovery, as well as Ellison at Paramount.

He said that a potential Paramount acquisition could actually benefit AEW, noting that the promotion already has long-term placements on TNT and TBS, along with a growing presence on HBO Max.

Khan added that he would welcome the opportunity for AEW to share network space with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, noting his positive relationship with Dana White and Hunter Campbell.

He explained that while AEW competes with WWE’s parent company under the TKO umbrella, he still sees potential value in having AEW programming alongside UFC content on the same platforms.

“There are tons of sports that exist on those platforms. I’d love to be on the same channel as UFC. I have a great relationship with Dana White and Hunter Campbell. While their sister promotion is also in pro wrestling and it’s of a competitive nature there, I think on my behalf I’d love to be on the same channel as UFC. I see a lot of positive utility for that”
