Jacob Fatu Says WWE Has Not Changed His Character – Jacob Fatu says his transition to WWE has allowed him to remain authentic, pushing back against the idea that the company reshapes talent after signing them.
Speaking with TV Insider, Fatu made it clear that WWE has not tried to change his presentation or character since his arrival.
“They are letting me be who I am,” Fatu said. “They ain’t here to change me. I’m going to say it again. They ain’t here to change me. They ain’t doing none of that. They are letting me be me and tapping into what people like about me. Just to let them know anything is possible. It has been going good.”
Fatu’s comments address a long-standing perception among fans that performers often lose their individuality after joining WWE. In his case, he emphasized that the company has instead focused on building around what already works.
He also spoke about the improvisational side of his performances, noting that WWE has been open to that approach.
“The improv, they can hang with that,” Fatu said. “They are still trusting the process.”
That level of flexibility suggests confidence from WWE in Fatu’s ability to connect with audiences without needing heavy scripting or restrictions. It also highlights a shift in how certain talents are presented, especially those who arrive with an established identity.
