Jey Uso’s Elimination Chamber Qualifier Sparks Online Backlash – The official WWE YouTube upload of Jey Uso winning the final Elimination Chamber qualifying match has drawn more than 21,000 dislikes, highlighting a split reaction among online fans.
The bout changed direction mid-match after Bronson Reed suffered a legitimate distal bicep tear while attempting to break up a pinfall. Reed was reportedly scheduled to win and advance to the Chamber. However, once the injury occurred, WWE adjusted the finish in real time. Jey capitalized and pinned El Grande Americano to secure the final spot in the six-man match.
Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling with Matt Camp and TJ Jefferson, Jacob Fatu addressed the criticism. He encouraged fans to focus on enjoying the product rather than dissecting every outcome.
“That’s what this is—entertainment. But man, come on, y’all. Don’t be hot over Jey yeeting, because let’s be real, y’all might have been yeeting with him too in his earlier days.”
Fatu continued, “Enjoy the show. Man, just shut the hell up. Just enjoy the show. Listen, obviously you keep watching it, right? If you’re complaining, you’re watching. Man, just chill, bro. Just chill. Enjoy the show, okay? Obviously, if you’re complaining about him yeeting, that means you’re watching him yeeting.”
Jefferson pointed to the contrast between online feedback and live audience reactions. Despite the dislikes on YouTube, Jey continues to receive strong crowd responses at events. His “Yeet” taunt remains one of the loudest participation moments during WWE shows. Jefferson argued that if fans were truly tired of the act, Jey would not be featured so prominently.
This Saturday in Chicago, Jey will compete inside the Elimination Chamber alongside Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, LA Knight, Trick Williams, and Je’Von Evans. The winner will challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
