Elton Prince Sidelined With Neck Injury

Elton Prince Sidelined With Neck Injury – Pretty Deadly’s future as a tag team is currently uncertain due to an injury issue affecting Elton Prince. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Prince is dealing with a neck problem that has sidelined him and forced WWE to adjust plans for the team.

With Prince out of action, Kit Wilson has transitioned into singles competition on SmackDown. WWE has not released a detailed medical update regarding Prince’s condition, but neck injuries are often serious and can require lengthy recovery periods. In some cases, they can even be career-threatening, which has added to concerns about when or if Prince will be able to return.

Pretty Deadly first gained attention through their flamboyant style and strong in-ring chemistry. The duo found early success in NXT UK, capturing the NXT UK Tag Team Championship in 2021. After relocating to the United States, they continued to build momentum and unified the NXT and NXT UK Tag Team Titles at Worlds Collide in 2022, establishing themselves as one of WWE’s standout developmental teams.

Prince’s injury history has also raised concern. He previously suffered a separated shoulder in 2023, and his current neck issue has kept him out of competition since May 2025. In response, Wilson debuted a new look and entrance on the January 2, 2026 episode of SmackDown in Buffalo. During that appearance, Wilson introduced a rebranded character, stating that he intended to “redefine masculinity” as a singles competitor.

So far, the transition has been difficult. Wilson has struggled to gain traction as a babyface, and his most recent match ended in a loss to Matt Cardona. Cardona, making his return, defeated Wilson decisively with the Rough Ryder, halting any early momentum from the rebrand.

Despite the circumstances, Wilson has made it clear that Pretty Deadly is not finished. He has stated on social media that he has no intention of permanently splitting from Prince. The team’s last match together took place on the May 2, 2025 episode of SmackDown, where they lost to Nathan Frazer and Axiom.
