AEW Parts Ways With Senior Executive Nik Sobic After Six-Year Run – Some notable changes have taken place behind the scenes in All Elite Wrestling.
According to a report from Alex McCarthy of Wrestling Intel, AEW has parted ways with Nik Sobic, who had been serving as the company’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, Partnerships, and Video Games. The move brings an end to Sobic’s long tenure with the promotion, which dates back to its official launch in 2019.
Sobic was one of the earliest hires in AEW’s corporate structure and played a role in helping the company establish its operational foundation during its formative years. Throughout his time with AEW, he was involved in multiple areas of the business, including partnerships, live event operations, and internal infrastructure as the company expanded its touring and media footprint.
He was most prominently linked to AEW’s video game division. Sobic was heavily involved in the development and rollout of AEW Fight Forever, the company’s first console video game, which represented a major investment and a key component of AEW’s early brand expansion strategy. The project was positioned as a long-term initiative aimed at establishing AEW within the gaming space alongside major wrestling franchises.
Before joining AEW, Sobic worked closely with AEW President Tony Khan during his time with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, where he served as a director. That working relationship carried over into AEW’s formation, with Sobic becoming part of Khan’s initial executive team when the wrestling promotion officially launched.
No reason for the departure has been publicly disclosed at this time, and AEW has not issued an official statement regarding the change. It is also unclear whether Sobic has immediately moved on to a new role elsewhere in sports or entertainment.
As previously covered by WrestlingAttitude.Com, AEW has continued to make internal adjustments as the company enters its next phase of growth, with executive responsibilities evolving alongside changes to its media and business strategies.
