Tony Khan Says AEW Has “Closed the Gap” in 2025

Tony Khan Says AEW Has “Closed the Gap” in 2025 – Tony Khan believes 2025 has been one of the strongest years in AEW’s history and a turning point in the company’s efforts to narrow the distance between itself and WWE.

Speaking on the Battleground podcast while promoting the December 3 episode of Dynamite from Indiana, Khan highlighted AEW’s momentum throughout the year and suggested that the promotion has made real progress across several key business categories.

Khan credited AEW’s roster and product quality as the driving force behind that progress. In his view, AEW remains the top destination for in-ring wrestling, a point he says is reflected in how the company has performed throughout 2025.

“I think AEW is where the best wrestle. I think that we have the best roster of wrestlers in the world today. And we’re putting on consistently awesome shows,” Khan said. “We’re the challenger brand in pro wrestling, and I think we’ve really closed the gap in a very meaningful way in 2025 in a number of key metrics.”

While Khan didn’t specify which metrics he was referring to, his confidence in AEW’s trajectory was clear. He also expressed deep appreciation for the support the company has received from fans over the past six years, saying his dedication to AEW is unwavering.

“I don’t have a crystal ball, but I can tell you my passion for this isn’t going anywhere,” he noted. “It’s been something I’ve been loving and dreaming to do for over 30 years… and I don’t ever want to stop with AEW.”

Looking ahead, Khan hopes AEW’s television shows and pay-per-views will remain strong five years from now. He emphasized continuing to deliver standout Dynamite and Collision episodes while further expanding AEW’s global footprint.

According to Khan, AEW programming now airs in more than 150 countries. He hopes to visit new regions, cultivate fresh markets, and build on the company’s international reach. He also highlighted AEW’s partnership with HBO Max as a core part of the brand’s continued growth.

Despite identifying AEW as a “challenger company,” Khan said he is proud of the unprecedented strides the promotion has made, especially within the American market.

“To have a wrestling promotion that is a challenger company doing the things that we’re doing… some of them are unprecedented and some of them are things that have not been done in over 25 years.”

WrestlingAttitude.Com will continue to follow AEW’s growth and provide updates as the company moves into 2026.
