12/13 AEW Collision: Winter is Coming Results – And we’re on the air! We are joined by Nigel McGuinness, Tony Schiavone, and Don Callis on the commentary booth! “Hangman” Adam Page takes to a backstage segment to make his intentions known: he is not done with Samoa Joe and the Opps. He wants the AEW World Championship back! Elsewhere, Swerve Strickland and Josh Alexander are taking to the ring in their highly-anticipated singles match.
Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana) vs. Josh Alexander
Strickland and Alexander take to the ring in Cardiff, Wales! After some pregnant pauses, the two men finally lock up amongst a rambunctious Wales crowd. The lock-up is violent, and Alexander quickly gets Strickland into the corner. The referee Aubrey Edwards calls them off, but Alexander gets Strickland into a headlock.
Strickland is the immovable object to Alexander’s unstoppable momentum! The two trade shoulder tackles, with Strickland not as much as budging, before trading some incredible leaps and kicks before Strickland gets Alexander down with a big boot. Wales is loving it!
Alexander tries to fight back with a big boot, but Strickland sees it! Strickland lifts Alexander up and dumps him on his knee. Strickland is comfortably in the driver’s seat, with the former AEW World Champion taking a moment to conduct the crowd after pumeling a supine Alexander with a knee drop.
Strickland continues to put the hurt on Alexander as Prince nana admonishes the ringside Don Callis. Strickland dumps Alexander on the outside before going to stomp his lights out. Alexander, however, catches him, and after running Strickland’s knee into the post, lifts Strickland up and dumps him, knees-first, onto the announce table!
It’s time for Alexander to get his moves in. He dumps Strickland to the outside once more, and Strickland is left writhing on the ground as referee Edwards checks on him. Callis rises to give his encouragement to the Don Callis Family member as we head to commercial.
Back from the break, Alexander and Strickland are exchanging forearm strikes and kicks! Both men seem to have the other’s number, but a temporary failure on Strickland’s knee causes him to falter. Alexander capitalizes by dumping Strickland’s knee onto his own before flattening the former world champion with a Suplex. Strickland quickly recovers, however, and lays out Alexander with a Powerslam/Powerbomb combo!
The two are in the corner now, with Strickland looking to set up for a Middle-Rope Uppercut. It connects, and Strickland rubs it in with a griddy! Despite the confidence, however, it’s clear that Strickland’s knee is ailing him. No matter: Strickland corners Alexander again and looks to set up for a top-rope move following some elbow strikes. Alexander manages to get down on the apron, but he cannot escape a chop from Strickland! Strickland might have gotten overconfident, however, as Alexander responds by dropping him back-first onto the apron!
The two are back to the top rope, and that is a top-rope Fallaway Slam from Strickland! It’s not enough to get the three-count, however, much to Strickland’s frustration. Strickland is on the prowl now, and looks to put Alexander into a Full Nelson. Alexander responds by trying for a Figure Four, but Strickland reverses Alexander’s momentum for a flash pin. No dice there, but Alexander is not deterred by the failure.
The two continue to exchange leg submission/flash pin attempts until Alexander locks in a Single-Legged Boston Crab onto Strickland. The former world champ is in agony, but luckily, the ropes are right there. Alexander waits for the four-count to let go of Strickland — is the damage to Strickland’s knee already done?
The two are in the corner, and after Alexander attempts to lock up Strickland’s knee in the ropes, the two exchange some slaps. It is, however, ultimately Alexander’s battle to win, as he dumps his whole body weight onto Strickland’s rope-hung knee. He looks for a top-rope move, but fails! Strickland responds with a House Call, but Alexander kicks out!
It’s a drag race to the finish line, as Strickland captures Alexander in a half-Nelson before turning him inside out! It’s one, two, three off of that move for Strickland as Wales sings his song!
Winner: Swerve Strickland!
Strickland takes to the microphone immediately after the match. He reminisces about his previous Wales ventures, which happened during his AEW World Championship reign. He says it’s “about time” he gets back to the title picture, while dismissing the Don Callis Family and The Opps. He tells Samoa Joe that his days are numbered, and calls himself “the most dangerous man in AEW.” He claims Number One Contendership for Joe’s title, and states his determination to make AEW “Swerve’s House.”
Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter vs. The Sisters of Sin (Skye Blue and Julia Hart, w/ Thekla)
All women make their entrances, with the Wales crowd coming alive for the UK-based Jamie Hayter! Thekla appears at the top of the entrance ramp as Hart and Blue jump Statlander and Hayter, and after a brief brawl, Hayter and Blue begin the match!
Hayter lays some serious pain onto Blue before tagging in Statlander, and the two display some tag team synergy as they lift each other up and dump each other down to crush Blue. The assault persists, with Statlander and Hayter flattening Blue with a double Elbow Drop. Statlander attempts to drive Blue into the corner, only for Blue to tag in former TBS Champion Hart. Statlander makes quick work of her enemy before tagging in Hayter, but Hart does not seem to be aware of the change. Hayter gets the upper hand onto Hart as Blue and Statlander have a brief skirmish on the outside. Hayter pummels Hart in the corner before laying her out with a swift suplex. It’s a near fall for Hayter, but no cigar.
Hayter has Hart pinned onto the ropes, and was looking for a big running move before Hart dodges! Hayter goes chest-first into the ropes as Blue runs over to deliver a bullyish follow-up kick. Statlander and Blue get tagged in, and Statlander is making short work of Blue. A magnificent variant of the Blue Thunder Bomb allows for Statlander to go for the pin, but she can only find a two-count. It’s much the same for Blue, who only finds a two-count following her flash pin and Tornado DDT combo.
Both teams are desperate for a tag-in, but the Sisters of Sin find theirs first. They dump Statlander in the middle of the ring and lay her out with a Double Superkick, but Hayter breaks up Hart’s follow-up pin onto Statlander. Blue interfers to dump Hayter to the outside as Hart continues to wail on Statlander, but her follow-up Hurricanrana attempt is stopped by Statlander’s incredible muscle! Statlander plants Hart for a pin, but Blue — the legal woman following a hot tag — plants her with a flash pin attempt. Hayter interferes, and all four women are down in the ring!
Everyone’s trading strikes and Superkicks, and in the chaos, Hayter and Statlander run into each other! Hayter gets dumped to the outside, but Statlander weathers the combined efforts of Hart and Blue to plant Blue with a sit-out Powerbomb. Statlander manages to fall back into her corner after some choice strikes from Blue, but Hayter doesn’t fare much better as the Sisters of Sin perform their tag team brilliance.
Things are unraveling now, after Blue accidentally strikes Hart off the apron! Hayter dumps the legal Hart over her knee before nailing her with Hayterade for the win!
Winners: Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter!
It’s not all paradise following the victory. Hayter makes her ambitions for Statlander’s title known, and while the two manage to walk out with mutual respect, Thekla is seen on the balcony, watching them with hungry eyes.
Claudio Castagnoli vs. Konosuke Takeshita in a Blue League Match for the 2025 Continental Classic
Both men make their entrances! After a bit of a staredown, they lock up, and Takeshita manages to shove Castagnoli off. Castagnoli remains unimpressed, and they lock up again, with Castagnoli managing to cinch in a bear hug this time. They go hold-for-hold before Castagnoli has Takeshita pinned against the ropes. He withholds his hand for a minute, and the two stare off before Castagnoli pounces, and gets Takeshita in a headlock!
They’re running the ropes now, with the two of them trading shoulder tackles before Takeshita brings out the Big Boot! Castagnoli is rocked as Takeshita follows up with a rebounded uppercut off the ropes! The two head into the corner, with Takeshita rocking Castagnoli’s cranium with some strikes before the Swiss talent plucks him off from the ground! He drops Takeshita facefirst into the turnbuckle before continuing his assault, and the two stare off before trading forearm strikes! Castagnoli comes out of the exchange on top as a Clothesline leaves Takeshita wheezing on the mat.
Castagnoli picks Takeshita up easily, and drops him down twice as fast! Takeshita is rocked following a slam from Castagnoli, but he manages to recollect himself enough to dump Castagnoli to the outside. Takeshita looks to dive from the apron, but Castangoli turns him inside out with one of his patented Uppercuts! The two tussle on the outside, and Castagnoli nearly caves Takeshita’s chest in with a gruesome Double Stomp. He looks for insurance in the form of a Suplex, but Takeshita finds enough life to reverse it and dump him with a DDT. The referee’s count is ongoing, but Takeshita decides to land the running move anyway. Castagnoli plucks him out of thin air, and the two head back in the ring during commercial break!
Back from commercial, and Takeshita is wowing Wales as he nails Castagnoli with a Hurricanrana! He goes for a follow-up Suicide Dive onto Castagnoli, and it connects! Takeshita puts Castagnoli back in the ring, and sends him packing with a Big Boot in the corner. Takeshita follows up with the Blue Thunder Bomb, but Castagnoli, perhaps on instinct, kicks out on two!
Takeshita is left hobbling, and he’s charging up in the corner. He goes for a running knee, but Castagnoli catches him, and Takeshita is going for a Giant Swing! Castagnoli cruelly follows up with a Sharpshooter, and Takeshita is struggling to reach the ropes. Castagnoli catches his hands, and turns the submission into a Crossface! Takeshita is in the center of the ring, and he is fading…until he reverses into a flash pin! Castangoli kicks out and rocks him with an Uppercut, but Takeshita is still in this! He kicks out at two.
Both men are at their wits end, and Castagnoli is taking out his frustrations by mockingly raking his boot across Takeshita’s head. Takeshita doesn’t take too kindly to that, and gets him with a point-blank Forearm Strike. Castagnoli replies with an uppercut of his own, and they’re trading blows as the clock continues to count down. This quickly devolves into a slugfest that Castagnoli gets out ahead of — or does he? While Castagnoli gets the last word with his Uppercut, Takeshita manages to set him up for a Piledriver before nailing Castagnoli with a slow Suplex! Even after the follow up running elbow, however, Castagnoli refuses to stay down!
Takeshita smells blood in the water, and he’s charging up once more. He bolts, but Castagnoli picks him up for a mid-air Uppercut! Takeshita kicks out at the last moment, but Castagnoli’s not done yet! That’s a Springboard Uppercut from the Swiss striker, and another one for good measure! Double Clothesline, and both men are down!
The two rise to their feet at the referee’s seven count, and they’re trading strikes once again. After every blow, however, each man falls to their knees, exhaustion catching up to them as this match reaches its tail end. They’re straight-up slugging now, and Takeshita goes to the apron to look for the final exclamation point. He puts his whole body weight into his forearm strikes, but Castagnoli refuses to fall to the wayside! He responds with some heavy forearm strikes of his own, and looks to be going for another Uppercut before Takeshita gets him with a Big Boot. Castagnoli responds with one of his own before both men get the same idea. Their Big Boots clash, and the two of them get dumped to the outside for more forearm strikes! They trade Big Boots — or are these merely vitriolic kicks? — before they collapse to the ground in exhaustion once more.
It looked like it would be a countout win for Takeshita, but Castagnoli dives into the ring at the last moment. Takeshita can’t seem to get the three-count he so desperately wants, and that frustration works well for Castagnoli! He nails Kovacova, but is only able to get the two-count! What will it take for this match to be over? Who will give first? The clock will give, it seems, as the two reach the time limit, and the referee is forced to call off the match!
Draw, by time limit: Claudio Castagnoli and Konosuke Takeshita!
Both men are eager to keep fighting, clock or not! Several AEW officials rush to the ring to separate the two as the segments transition.
The Babes of Wrath Take to the Mic!
Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale, the new AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions, take to the ring to speak with Tony Schiavone. They acknowledge the struggles they’ve had to go through in order to become the new women’s tag team champions, and throw out the challenge to anyone in the locker room. Who else responds but Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, the Timeless Lovebombs?
Storm and Shirakawa take to the ring, and the two teams exchange respectful pleasantries after the deliverance of the fight to remember in the AEW Women’s World Championship finals. Things seem to be tame until Mercedes Moné’s music hits, and the TBS Champion takes to the entrance ramp to say her piece.
Moné parades her accolades as one of the best women’s wrestlers of all time, and the “CEO” of the ring. Shirakawa cuts Moné off, and tells her to shut up, to which Storm, Nightingale, Cameron, and Shirakawa cackle in the ring. Mone rebuffs her, and calls all of her detracters involved “losers.” Storm lays down the challenge for a match tonight in Wales, to which Moné refuses. The reasoning? Wales isn’t even a real country, Moné says.
Cameron fires back, and asserts that Moné is bad at geography and math, as “The CEO” showed up with no backup. Nightingale adds on to her tag team partner’s claims, and accuses Moné of dodging them out of fear. Moné scrunches her nose and denies the accusations. Come Wednesday, Moné promises, she will find three other people to take to the Babes of Wrath and the Timeless Lovebombs in Manchester, England. Moné makes her escape with her tail in between her legs as the four women in the ring celebrate.
Kevin Knight vs. Speedball Mike Bailey in a Gold League Match for the 2025 Continental Classic
Before the match, a Battle Royale for the “AEW Dynamite” Diamond Ring is announced for the upcoming episode of “Dynamite,” Holiday Bash edition! Both men make their entrances.
It’s truly a match of equal skill, as Knight and Bailey waste no time wrestling circles around each other. For every flying kick or leap the other tries, the other has a response. They continue their cat-and-mouse game until Bailey, with his back covered in athletic tape, makes a trip into the corner, which gives Knight an advantage. Knight gets Bailey with an arm drag, and “Speedball” seems to be in a bad way until the two head to the apron and the outside.
Knight looks to nail Bailey with a Suicide Dive, but Bailey stops him by grabbing his feet. Bailey looks to do a top-rope dive of his own, but Knight dodges. The two continue to trade attempts until Bailey finally lays Knight out with a Moonsault to the outside, which takes us into the commercial break!
Back from commercial, and the two are still playing their back-and-forth game. After another trip to the outside, the two continue to trade top-rope moves. After failing to get a pinfall on his tag team partner, Knight takes to the top rope once again in search of a dive, but Bailey nails him with an Enzuigiri, and Knight is sent into the cameraman! The two move to the apron, where Bailey looks to drive Knight’s foot into the apron. They think twice of it, however, and go for a standing flip onto their friend. Knight is wheezing, and Bailey brings them both to the top rope to exchange some strikes. Knight falls to his feet, but builds up enough moment to scale the ropes with a vertical jump! Knight goes for the pin following a beautiful Suplex, but fails to get the three count!
The two exchange pin covers following a beautiful airborne Powerslam, but neither man is willing to step down! Knight tries to put the exclamation mark on the match with a Springboard dive, but Bailey answers with a spinning back kick, and referee Aubrey Edwards is forced to make the count as both men writhe on the floor.
The two manage to make their way onto their feet, and navigate to the aprons. The two tag team partners stun Wales with matching Springboard Clotheslines, but as Bailey is recovering from the intense move, Knight follows up with a brutal Coast-to-Coast! He looks for the exclamation mark with a rotating Frog Splash, but Bailey kicks out and goes for a Heel Kick! Similarly, they cannot get the three-count.
It’s more kick work from Bailey, and Knight’s head is rocked! Bailey goes for a 450 Splash off the middle rope, but Knight has enough werewithal to dodge. The two exchange pin covers before playing limb origami with submission and flash pin attempts before Bailey stops the shenanigans with a spinning kick to the head. Knight looks to be heading to the top for another signature Jetspeed move, but Bailey catches him! It’s so seamless, it might as well be instinct: Bailey lands a Rubik’s Cube onto his Jetspeed partner! All it takes is one, two, three, and Bailey collects their three points in the Continental Classic.
Winner: “Speedball” Mike Bailey!
It was a hard-fought fight, but there seem to be no bad blood between the Jetspeed members. Bailey goes to check on Knight following the match, and Knight gives them a solid handshake for their efforts. We head to a backstage segment featuring Kyle Fletcher and PAC ahead of their Continental Classic match at “Dynamite’s” Holiday Bash episode.
Mark Briscoe (c) vs. Daniel Garcia (w/ Marina Shafir) for the TNT Championship!
It’s time for our main event! Garcia is accompanied to the ring by Marina Shafir, and squares up with a Cardiff audience member as he makes his way through the crowd. Briscoe himself makes an electrifying entrance.
Champion and challenger get to it right away, with Briscoe immediately getting Garcia down on the ground for some blows. Garcia obliges him, and taunts the TNT Champion as the two rise to their foot. Briscoe rocks Garcia with some nasty chops before backing him into a corner to pepper him with stomps, and the cocky Garcia is left panting as Briscoe gets to work!
Briscoe’s Suplex attempt didn’t work, but no worry! He manages to get Garcia into the corner, and dumps him to the outside. Briscoe soars through the middle and the top rope to clip Garcia with a kick, and after making a tour to high five the crowd, goes back up to the apron. Garcia takes advantage, and chokes Briscoe out against the ropes before he dumps Briscoe to the outside. He brags while Briscoe claws his way back into the ring, and as soon as Briscoe manages to crawl in through the ropes, Garcia pounces.
Briscoe’s not about to let Garcia have all the fun! The veteran titleholder fights back, and he dumps Garcia to the outside once again. This time, he’s looking for insurance, and he dives through the ropes before folding his body into a cannonball to flatten Garcia! Briscoe takes to the ring apron to set up for his own move, but is distracted by Shafir!
Garcia follows up seamlessly, with the confidence of a seasoned Death Rider. He takes out Briscoe’s knee before trapping him in the ring apron, and pummels him with over-the-head strikes. He turns Briscoe inside out with a Swinging Neckbreaker, and Shafir verbally berates him as we head to commercial.
Back from the break, and the Death Riders are continuing to mock Briscoe. Garcia is talking incredible trash to Briscoe, but the TNT Champion is not having it! He strikes Garcia, but the young competitor responds with some blows of his own. They trade offense until Briscoe gets Garcia against the ropes for some premier chops. Garcia attempts to shake Briscoe off of him, but Briscoe just comes back with a corkscrew elbow.
Cardiff is ready for redneck kung fu! Briscoe lands his iconic striking sequence before tossing Garcia over his shoulder with a Half Nelson Powerbomb. Garcia manages to kick out, but Briscoe is undeterred. He goes for the chicken wing hold before Garcia wiggles out for a slam of his own. Briscoe miraculously stands back up to dump Garcia with a Death Valley Bomb before securing the deal with a Basement Clothesline.
Briscoe’s looking for the exclamation point on the top rope, but Shafir interferes once again! Shafir dumps Briscoe onto the top rope, and Garcia has enough time to recover as Shafir does a tour of the Cardiff crowd — middle fingers up, of course. Garcia meets Briscoe on the top rope and rakes his back before setting up for a Superplex, which connects with devastating impact!
It’s a page out of the greats’ books! Garcia swings up and sets Briscoe up to another corner for the night’s second Suplex, and he is far from done. They travel to the third turnbuckle, and that is the night’s third Superplex!
Garcia’s confused expression after Briscoe immediately responds with a Suplex of his own says it all. Both men are down after four match Suplexes, and the referee is forced to start the count. Both men make it to their feet around the same time, and they begin trading harsh words and forearm strikes. Garcia peppers Briscoe with strikes, but ever the resilient fighter, Briscoe comes back with a combination of forearm strikes and chops. Garcia goes for the kick, and after some abdominal knee strikes, sends sweat flying off of Briscoe’s chest with chops of his own! Briscoe isn’t staying down, and he connects with an emphatic Clothesline!
Briscoe is looking for the Jay Driller once again, and Shafir is caught grabbing Briscoe’s foot! The referee climbs the ropes as he enthusiastically kicks Shafir out of the ring, but what’s this? Wheeler Yuta is there, and he nails Briscoe in the crown jewels! Garcia tries to capitalize with a devastating drop, but by some miracle (or pure instinct, Briscoe kicks out!
An irate Garcia wastes no time peppering Briscoe with blows. He tries to set up for the Sharpshooter, but Briscoe goes for the inside cradle. Garcia kicks out, but leaves himself open for Briscoe to finally, finally cinch in the Jay Driller! One, two, three, and it’s championship retained!
Winner, and still the TNT Champion: Mark Briscoe!
The Conglomeration join Briscoe in the ring to celebrate! Orange Cassidy takes Briscoe’s hand, and Briscoe, Nightingale, and Cameron all raise up their titles as the show goes off the air.
