WWE 2K26 Officially in Development – Development for WWE 2K26, the next entry in the long-running WWE 2K video game franchise, is now officially underway. According to a report from PWInsider Elite, production has already begun, with several WWE Superstars taking part in early development work.
The report indicates that some wrestlers have started recording voice lines for WWE 2K26, though specific names have not been confirmed. It’s typical for top WWE talent to lend their voices for in-game storylines, commentary, and custom dialogue across modes like MyRise and Universe.
The game’s development was first confirmed by Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Games, during an earnings call in May 2025. WWE 2K26 is expected to be released during Take-Two’s 2026 fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026.
WWE 2K26 will build upon the success of WWE 2K25, which launched in March 2025 to strong sales and fan praise. That installment featured the largest roster in WWE gaming history and included two special editions: the Bloodline Edition, centered on Roman Reigns and his dominant faction, and the Deadman Edition, celebrating The Undertaker’s legacy.
In addition to console developments, WWE’s gaming presence continues to expand to mobile platforms. WWE 2K Mobile, announced earlier this year as part of Netflix Games, is still slated for release in Fall 2025. However, no new updates have been provided on its progress or final release date.
With early production already moving forward, WWE 2K26 is shaping up to continue the franchise’s momentum — and fans can expect new modes, improved gameplay, and expanded customization as 2K refines its partnership with WWE.
