WWE NXT Announces Women’s Speed Title Tournament and Six-Woman Tag Match for November 4 Episode – The November 4 edition of WWE NXT on The CW will feature the start of the WWE Women’s Speed Championship tournament, as well as several key matches following the fallout from Halloween Havoc.
After Sol Ruca was ruled out of competition due to injury, NXT General Manager Ava announced that a new tournament would be held to crown a new Women’s Speed Champion. Ruca previously declined to let her tag partner Zaria defend the title on her behalf, choosing instead to relinquish it. Zaria later revealed that she will enter the tournament to reclaim the title for her injured partner.
Ruca’s decision follows a tough few weeks for the duo. At Halloween Havoc, Zaria filled in for Ruca to defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship but lost to Blake Monroe. With the Speed Title now vacant, Ava officially confirmed that the tournament will begin on the November 4 episode of NXT.
In addition to the tournament’s opening round, a major six-woman tag team match has also been set. The new NXT Women’s Champion Tatum Paxley will team with Izzi Dame and Lola Vice to take on Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Lainey Reid, and Fallon Henley). This comes after Fatal Influence interfered in last week’s championship match between Paxley and Vice, attacking both competitors and leaving Dame laid out at ringside. Paxley, who captured the title from Jayne at Halloween Havoc, will now get the chance for payback alongside her allies.
Rounding out the announced card, Je’Von Evans will face DarkState’s Saquon Shugars in singles action.
With title implications and new rivalries intensifying, next week’s NXT is set to deliver another pivotal night in the brand’s ongoing storylines.
