Jey Uso on His Current Relationship With Roman Reigns

Jey Uso on His Current Relationship With Roman Reigns – With a major opportunity ahead of him, Jey Uso is preparing to face CM Punk for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, and the former champion recently opened up about his current relationship with Roman Reigns while hinting at a possible return to his darker, Bloodline-era mindset.

During an appearance on RAW Recap with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant, Jey discussed how his dynamic with Reigns has evolved, revealing that the two share a “love-hate relationship” but remain bound by deep respect. Jey emphasized that, despite his own growth as a singles star, he still acknowledges Roman as his Tribal Chief.

“He see me now, you know what I’m saying, Uce, we equals now,” Jey said. “You know, he did teach me the game, man. I was a student to him, I sat under the learning tree all of COVID. I was there. Like front row, man. I had my ticket, just learning the game, man, learning from Big Uce, learning from The Wiseman.

“Me and Roman got a love-hate relationship, like y’all can tell, man, but respect between us is there now. So, he’s still big uce, he’s still my Tribal Chief, man. There’ll never be another Tribal Chief to Jey Uso but Roman Reigns.”

Jey also addressed the criticism he’s faced online, with some fans claiming his success is tied more to his entrance than his in-ring ability. In response, Jey made it clear that he’s tired of being underestimated — and that he’s ready to tap back into his Bloodline mentality to prove his doubters wrong.

“I’m tired of people saying I’m ‘just an entrance’ or whatever. [They say] I don’t have skills to hold it down up top,” Jey continued. “So, I just switch modes, Uce. I might be going back to the old ways of thinking, Bloodline ways, but that mentality got the job done.”

As Jey prepares for one of the biggest matches of his career, his words suggest a more aggressive side may emerge when he steps into the ring with CM Punk — one shaped by lessons from Roman Reigns and fueled by a desire to silence his critics.
