Paul Heyman Responds to Braun Strowman’s “Oswald Cobblepot” Comment – WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman has responded to a social media jab from former WWE Superstar Braun Strowman, who recently referred to him as “Oswald Cobblepot.”
The exchange began after Monday’s RAW, during which Heyman stated in a promo that no one but “The Vision” had ever forced Roman Reigns to be stretchered out. Strowman quickly took exception to that claim, sharing an image on X (formerly Twitter) of his 2017 attack on Reigns, where he not only left Reigns on a stretcher but also flipped it over.
Accompanying the image, Strowman wrote: “yea ok Oswald Cobblepot!!” — referencing the Batman villain better known as The Penguin, who is currently featured in the HBO Max series The Penguin.
Heyman replied through an Instagram Story on Wednesday with his trademark sarcasm and wit:
“Dear Mr. Strowman,
Your post was brought to my attention. I have nothing negative to say about you, nor to you sir.
In fact, I am actually relieved and indeed celebratory to learn you’re still alive, something most of us didn’t realize and even fewer cared about.
With Love and Respect,
Paul Heyman”
The tension between Heyman and Strowman may trace back to Heyman’s appearance on The Pat McAfee Show after WrestleMania 41, where he claimed that Strowman approached him in tears because he wasn’t included on the card. Heyman said he bluntly told Strowman that he “sucks,” which is why he was left out of the show.
Strowman’s WWE contract expired in July after the company chose not to renew his deal, marking the end of his second run with the organization.
