Laredo Kid Announces Departure from TNA Wrestling – Former TNA Digital Media Champion Laredo Kid has officially announced his departure from TNA Wrestling. The luchador shared the news on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the company and its fans while revealing that he is embarking on a “new path” in his career. His exit marks the end of a successful multi-year run that saw him become a prominent figure in the X-Division and capture championship gold.
In his farewell message, Laredo Kid wrote, “gracias por todo a esta gran compañia y gran familia @tnawrestling, agradezco por su gran apoyo que me brindaron, espero regresar a trabajar en un futuro. Ahora vamos por nuevos caminos.” Translated, he said, “Thank you for everything to this great company and family. I appreciate your tremendous support. I hope to return to work in the future. We’re on a new path.”
Laredo Kid’s most recent TNA run began in 2021, where he quickly became a mainstay in the X-Division, frequently challenging for the X-Division Championship. His perseverance was rewarded in April 2024 at the Rebellion pay-per-view, when he defeated Crazzy Steve to win the TNA Digital Media Championship — his first title with the promotion. He held the championship for a month before dropping it to AJ Francis.
Recently, Laredo Kid teamed with Octagón Jr. as part of the Aztec Warriors tag team. This stint was his second with the company, having previously appeared during its Impact Wrestling era from 2017 to 2019. Outside TNA, he has been a fixture in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, where he is currently a two-time AAA World Cruiserweight Champion.
Laredo Kid’s global career has also included appearances in AEW — notably teaming with the Lucha Brothers at the inaugural Fyter Fest in 2019 — and even a surprise WWE appearance in 2025, competing in a Fatal Four-Way match for the NXT North American Championship at Worlds Collide.
