Steve Maclin Reacts to Being Left Off Team TNA for NXT Vs TNA Showdown – Former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin has shared his thoughts on not being selected for Team TNA in the upcoming WWE NXT vs. TNA Wrestling: Showdown event, set to take place on October 7. Known for his strong loyalty to the TNA brand, Maclin admitted the omission caught him off guard but made it clear he’s keeping a positive outlook and focusing on the long-term picture.
Speaking on The Mark Hoke Show, Maclin said he’s fully behind the team representing TNA at the crossover special, even though he was disappointed not to be included. “I’m hoping for the best for Team TNA and everybody involved,” Maclin said. “Obviously, I’m not there. I wasn’t picked for the team, which makes me wonder what’s going on in that situation.”
Drawing on his military background, the former Marine compared the situation to deployment decisions, explaining that not everyone gets sent into battle at once. “I don’t know. I guess not all soldiers, in a way, or Marines, are going to go to fight the war at the same time,” he said. “So I guess I’ll just sit and wait for something a little bit bigger on that end. But I got my fingers crossed that Team TNA will do their thing, and we’ll see what comes out of that.”
Maclin has been a key player in TNA since joining the company in 2021, earning recognition for his intense style and no-nonsense approach. He recently lost the TNA International Championship to Frankie Kazarian, concluding his reign as the inaugural champion of the newly introduced title.
While his absence from Showdown may have surprised fans, Maclin remains one of TNA’s most prominent names — and his comments suggest he’s ready for whatever comes next in the company’s ongoing crossover storyline with WWE.
