Big Intercontinental Title Triple Threat Set for Saturday Night’s Main Event – A fourth championship match has been officially confirmed for this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City, adding even more star power to an already stacked lineup.
WWE announced that Dominik Mysterio will defend his Intercontinental Championship in a triple threat match against Penta and Rusev. The decision follows the chaotic events that unfolded on this week’s episode of RAW, where a number one contender’s match between Penta and Rusev ended in disarray.
Before the match, Mysterio was seen expressing frustration over the situation and seeking help from his Judgment Day allies. However, Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh chose to focus on regaining the World Tag Team Titles, while Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez shifted their attention to Perez’s upcoming singles match against Nikki Bella. Left without backup, Dominik was later shown making a mysterious phone call before leaving the scene.
During the bout between Penta and Rusev, chaos erupted when El Grande Americano and his allies, Rayo and Bravo, interfered and attacked both competitors. While Rusev managed to fend off Rayo and Bravo, Americano narrowly escaped before Penta could retaliate.
Later in the night, Mysterio feigned surprise over the interference when speaking with Adam Pearce, suggesting that Penta and Rusev should target Los Americanos instead. Pearce disagreed and officially sanctioned the triple threat match for this Saturday’s show.
