Backstage News on Nikki Bella’s WWE Absence – WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella remains part of WWE’s ongoing plans despite her recent absence from Monday Night RAW. Bella has not appeared on television for several weeks, leading to speculation that her latest return run may have ended quietly. However, according to a new update from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, that is not the case.
During a recent Q&A session with Fightful Select subscribers, Sapp clarified that Bella’s run with WWE is ongoing and that she will continue to appear on the show periodically. “The last I’d heard she would be around here and there,” Sapp said. “I don’t think there were any real plans for her in Australia so there wasn’t a great need to have her around for the build to that. They expect Nikki to be on the show for a while, from everything that I’ve heard.”
While Bella’s on-screen appearances have been limited in recent weeks, her fellow Hall of Famer Trish Stratus—who was also expected to appear more frequently—has reportedly taken some time away following the recent passing of her mother.
In an interview with The TakeDown on Sports Illustrated earlier this year, Bella emphasized that her latest WWE stint is about more than nostalgia. She expressed a desire to demonstrate that women her age can still compete at a high level while helping to elevate the younger generation.
“Why can’t women my age do it too? Why does it always have to be for one big PLE? We come in for a few weeks and then we’re gone,” Bella said. “Why can’t we come in for a while and see how I can hang with the younger era? I’m not here to take spots, I’m here for anything to help the people that we need to make.”
Bella’s last WWE appearance took place in a backstage segment involving Damage CTRL and Rhea Ripley, while her most recent match came against Asuka on the September 8 episode of RAW. With Survivor Series: WarGames approaching next month, it appears that Nikki Bella’s involvement in WWE programming is far from over.
