Paul Heyman Jokes About Tommy Dreamer on WWE RAW

Paul Heyman Jokes About Tommy Dreamer on WWE RAW – Paul Heyman opened WWE RAW on August 18 with his signature mix of hype and controversy, and this time his target was none other than ECW original Tommy Dreamer.

Standing in the ring alongside Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed, Heyman took turns praising their careers before Jey Uso interrupted. The exchange quickly led to a heated back-and-forth between Uso and Breakker, prompting Heyman to step in. He declared that the only way to truly settle things was through a match created by legends — the Extreme Rules match.

Heyman then launched into a history lesson, naming some of the most iconic figures of ECW’s past, including The Sandman, New Jack, Rob Van Dam, and the late Sabu. When he turned his attention to Tommy Dreamer, however, Heyman couldn’t resist taking a jab. Referring to Dreamer as “the late, great Tommy Dreamer,” Heyman paused, smirked, and added, “Yeah, I know he’s not dead yet, but he should be.”

The live crowd erupted with laughter at the remark, and even Bron Breakker played along, asking Heyman if Dreamer was still alive. Heyman shot back with another quip, replying, “Yeah, unfortunately.”

The exchange was a nod to the long history between Heyman and Dreamer dating back to ECW, where Dreamer was one of the cornerstones of the promotion under Heyman’s leadership. While the two have had their share of personal and professional differences over the years, Heyman’s comments show he is willing to poke fun at their complicated past.

Currently, Dreamer works behind the scenes in TNA Wrestling, but his name still resonates with wrestling fans worldwide. Heyman’s playful jab served as both a callback to ECW’s legacy and an example of his ability to mix humor with storytelling on WWE television.
