Jimmy Uso to Face Talla Tonga on SmackDown – WWE has officially updated the match card for the August 1, 2025 edition of SmackDown, the final broadcast before SummerSlam, and the show promises to deliver major star power and key storyline developments. The episode will air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and will be the last stop on the road to SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium.
The latest addition to the card is a singles match featuring Jimmy Uso taking on Talla Tonga. WWE confirmed the bout on Friday through an update on its official website.
“Jimmy Uso goes head to head with Talla Tonga tonight at 8 ET/7 CT on USA,” the statement reads.
Also scheduled for tonight’s SmackDown is a live appearance by country music star Jelly Roll, who has made multiple WWE cameos in recent months. WWE Champion John Cena and his SummerSlam opponent Cody Rhodes will both be in attendance, likely for a final face-to-face ahead of their high-stakes Street Fight.
The card also features a hard-hitting matchup between Damian Priest and Aleister Black, which could have title implications down the line. In women’s action, Giulia is set to defend her WWE Women’s U.S. Title against Zelina Vega.
Additionally, Los Garza will put their AAA World Tag Team Titles on the line in an open challenge. Their challengers have yet to be revealed, leaving the door open for a surprise appearance or debut.
