
8/22 WWE SmackDown Sees Huge Drop in Viewership – WWE SmackDown on August 22 drew 1.258 million viewers on USA Network, according to Programming Insider. The number is down from the 1.430 million viewers the show brought in the previous Friday, August 15.
Despite the decline in total viewers, SmackDown held steady in the key 18–49 demographic with a 0.35 rating, matching last week’s performance. The show finished #2 on cable for the night, trailing only NFL preseason coverage on CBS. The game between the Minnesota Vikings and Tennessee Titans topped the night with 2.563 million viewers and a 0.42 rating in the demo.
The episode served as a major step on the road to WWE Clash in Paris. Featured names included Carmelo Hayes, The Miz, The Motor City Machine Guns, Piper Niven, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Nia Jax, JC Mateo, Logan Paul, and John Cena, among others.
On digital platforms, SmackDown clips continued to gain traction, with John Cena and Logan Paul generating the biggest numbers. Cena’s segment delivering an Attitude Adjustment to Paul topped the list with over one million views.
