WWE Planning Six Hours of Pre-Show Coverage for SummerSlam – WWE is going all-in on its first-ever two-night SummerSlam, with a major expansion of pre-show programming planned for this weekend. The company will present a total of six hours of kickoff content, split evenly across both nights of the premium live event.
Each night will feature a three-hour pre-show, with Saturday’s (August 2) and Sunday’s (August 3) pre-shows both beginning at 3 p.m. EST, leading directly into the main card at 6 p.m. EST.
This marks a significant move by WWE as it transforms SummerSlam into a WrestleMania-level spectacle. The event will take place from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and will feature some of the biggest names and matches of the year.
The expanded pre-show is expected to include panel discussions, backstage interviews, last-minute storyline developments, and possibly even in-ring action to hype up the main card. WWE has used extended pre-shows for WrestleMania in the past, and this approach signals a similar treatment for SummerSlam going forward.
Tonight’s RAW go-home episode will serve as the final push toward the weekend’s action. The card includes a World Tag Team Championship match, an eight-woman tag bout, and appearances by Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER—all of whom are set for major confrontations at SummerSlam.
This year’s SummerSlam already carries historic significance, and WWE’s decision to extend the pre-show to six hours reflects the company’s ambition to elevate the summer classic into a weekend-long celebration for fans across the globe.
