Another AAA Name Reportedly WWE-Bound – Another familiar name from Lucha Libre AAA may be headed to WWE. According to Fightful Select, long-time AAA talent La Hiedra has reportedly informed multiple people that she now needs to clear her upcoming bookings with WWE — a strong indication that she is under contract with the company.
La Hiedra, a prominent figure in AAA’s women’s division for years, has been known for her character work and her role as one-half of the current AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions alongside Mr. Iguana. Though WWE has yet to confirm the signing publicly, sources close to her believe the deal is in place.
Fightful noted they reached out to representatives within both WWE and AAA to verify the report, but neither side has confirmed the signing as of now. The news originally surfaced via Fightful’s Español social media pages, including Facebook and Instagram, and has since gained traction within both U.S. and Mexican wrestling circles.
This development comes amid a growing wave of crossover activity since WWE officially acquired AAA earlier this year. Reports in recent weeks have suggested that other top AAA stars — including Psycho Clown and Octagon Jr. — have also either signed with WWE or are in the final stages of closing deals.
While there has been little official communication between the two companies in terms of roster integration, talent from AAA has quietly begun appearing on WWE-affiliated programming. Notably, Mr. Iguana and La Hiedra are scheduled to face TNA’s Santino Marella and WWE NXT’s Lola Vice at AAA Verano de Escándalo on July 11.
As WWE looks to expand its global presence through its AAA acquisition, the addition of La Hiedra could be another move aimed at building stronger representation from Latin American markets — particularly with the upcoming WWE Clash at Paris premium live event and Evolution 2 on the horizon.
