WWE Releases Gigi Dolin and Eddy Thorpe Amid Ongoing Roster Cuts – The list of WWE talent cuts continues to grow, with PWInsider’s Mike Johnson now confirming that Eddy Thorpe and Gigi Dolin have both been released from the company.
Eddy Thorpe, formerly known as Karl Fredericks in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, signed with WWE in January 2023 and wrestled exclusively in NXT. His final match took place on the April 15 episode of WWE NXT, where he competed in a Fatal Four-Way match for a shot at the NXT North American Title. Despite being considered a promising talent, Thorpe’s run in WWE was relatively short-lived.
Meanwhile, Gigi Dolin, a standout of the NXT women’s division, has also been let go. Dolin last competed on the April 22 episode of NXT, teaming with Tatum Paxley to challenge Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Dolin and Paxley had recently been featured on TNA programming as part of WWE’s ongoing talent exchange partnership with the promotion.
Dolin was signed in January 2021 and is a former two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion, originally gaining notoriety as part of the popular Toxic Attraction faction alongside Mandy Rose and Jacy Jayne.
These two names now join a growing list of recent WWE releases from both the main roster and NXT, with more departures expected as part of an ongoing internal restructuring effort.
