WWE Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Legacy Inductees – The 2025 WWE Hall of Fame class is now officially complete, as WWE has announced the latest inductees for this year’s Legacy Wing. In a post made on social media this afternoon, the company confirmed that Kamala, Dory Funk Sr., and Ivan Koloff will be honored posthumously during WrestleMania 41 weekend as part of the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
“Legendary Superstars Kamala, Dory Funk Sr., and Ivan Koloff will enter the WWE Hall of Fame as the 2025 Legacy inductees,” WWE wrote in its announcement.
The WWE Legacy Wing, introduced in 2016, was created to recognize the contributions of legendary figures from the early years of professional wrestling — individuals whose impact on the business predates the modern televised era.
WWE also shared detailed biographies for the three honorees:
Kamala – Known as “The Ugandan Giant,” Kamala was one of WWE’s most memorable characters, with his painted body, tribal mask, and fearsome presence. The character, portrayed by Jim Harris, was a monstrous villain during the 1980s and early 1990s, battling top stars like Hulk Hogan and The Undertaker. Later in his career, Kamala endeared himself to fans with a more lighthearted persona, revealing the kind-hearted man behind the mask.
Dory Funk Sr. – The patriarch of the legendary Funk wrestling family, Dory Funk Sr. was a decorated amateur wrestler and World War II veteran. As a promoter for Western States Sports in Amarillo, Texas, Funk built a stronghold for pro wrestling in the Southwest and helped shape the careers of numerous legends, including Harley Race and Bruiser Brody. He now joins his sons, WWE Hall of Famers Dory Funk Jr. and Terry Funk, in the Hall of Fame.
Ivan Koloff – Known as “The Russian Bear,” Ivan Koloff was one of WWE’s most despised villains during the Cold War era. He made history on January 18, 1971, when he defeated Bruno Sammartino in Madison Square Garden to end Sammartino’s historic seven-year reign as WWE Champion. That victory sent shockwaves through the industry and cemented Koloff’s place in WWE lore.
With these additions, the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame class stands as one of the most diverse and historically rich lineups in recent memory. The ceremony is scheduled to take place during WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas, offering fans an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the legends who paved the way.
