
Details on WWE ID Championship Tournament Revealed – WWE has officially launched its first-ever WWE ID Championship tournaments, set to begin this month. The initiative is part of the WWE ID program, a strategic partnership between WWE and independent wrestling promotions and training schools. Participants in the program receive financial support and access to WWE’s training facilities.
Tournament Details
The WWE ID Championship tournaments will kick off during WrestleMania 41 week, with opening matches scheduled at major independent wrestling events. The first set of matches will take place at GCW’s event on Wednesday, April 16, as part of The Collective at The Palms in Las Vegas. Additional matches are scheduled for FSW’s show on Friday, April 18, at FSW Arena.
The tournament winners will become the inaugural WWE ID Champions and will defend their titles on the independent circuit. WWE has also confirmed the following talent bookings for the GCW and FSW events:

- Ice Williams

- Swipe Right (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes)

Tournament Format
The WWE ID Twitter account outlined the structure of the tournaments for both the men’s and women’s divisions:
- Men’s Championship:
- The tournament will feature a double elimination format in the opening round. Competitors will be eliminated after losing two matches.
- The opening round will continue across multiple independent wrestling promotions until only four competitors remain.
- The final four will then compete in a single elimination format to determine the inaugural WWE ID Men’s Champion.
- Women’s Championship:
- The championship will be determined using a round-robin format.
- Matches will take place across various independent wrestling promotions.
This initiative marks WWE’s latest effort to strengthen ties with the independent wrestling scene while providing a new platform for emerging talent to showcase their skills.
