Buddy Matthews Provides Injury Update

Buddy Matthews Provides Injury Update – At AEW Grand Slam: Australia, Buddy Matthews challenged Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Championship. However, during his entrance, Matthews appeared to injure his ankle. Despite the setback, he continued with the match, ultimately losing to Okada. Since then, Matthews has been absent from AEW programming.

Shortly after the event, Matthews took to social media with a now-deleted tweet, joking that he wouldn’t have hurt his ankle if AEW’s ring at the show had been bigger. Following this, he was seen using a crutch in a social media post, further fueling speculation about the severity of his injury.

In an update, Matthews shared an image on his Instagram story, showing himself wearing a walking boot. In a lighthearted caption, he joked that he was “like 1/2 Iron Man,” referencing the protective boot.

There is currently no official word on the severity of Matthews’ injury or how long he may be sidelined. His absence leaves House of Black without one of its key members, and AEW fans will be eager for any updates regarding his potential return.

As of now, AEW has not commented on Matthews’ status, but his latest post suggests he is still recovering. Fans will have to wait and see when he will be cleared to return to action.
