Two Outsiders Who Could Win the 2024 Royal Rumble Match

Two Outsiders Who Could Win the 2024 Royal Rumble Match – WWE is firmly in its quiet season however, with Survivor Series just around the corner, business is just about to pick up. The promoted main event for the Chicago showpiece evening is Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins facing off against The Judgement Day in a War Games match. An appearance from a certain Best in the World CM Punk is also being touted, what with the show being in the Second City and all.

The Road to WrestleMania

But once the curtain comes down on the Allstate Arena showdown, attention will firmly turn toward the Royal Rumble. The match has become popular even with mainstream outlets, which is evidenced by the preamble closer to the date of the event. Online sports betting sites will be staying updated with the coverage to offer the latest odds.

Last year, the Royal Rumble was won by Cody Rhodes, who was the odds-on favorite to triumph despite the white-hot Sami Zayn being the obvious choice. The American Nightmare is the man considered by many to be the favorite for success once more this year as he remains steadfast in his mission to finish the story and defeat Roman Reigns.

But with a second world title in the company, the Royal Rumble winner could instead choose not to face Reigns and instead face the world heavyweight champion, whoever that may be next April. By the same token, some outsiders could win the match and embark on a feud with the Tribal Chief and it would still make sense, in terms of the storyline. With that in mind, could the lucky winner be one of these two?

Solo Sikoa

The obvious answer would be Solo Sikoa. The enforcer of the Bloodline has been built up to be an unstoppable monster since his shocking debut at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales last fall. His dominant victory against outgoing GOAT John Cena at the recent Crown Jewel Saudi show further emphasized that. But with Jimmy Uso firmly ousted from the family and his brother seemingly headed for the same fate, that leaves Solo as Reigns’ sole ally.

The path that WWE could take, should Sikoa win the Rumble, is the one they played out in 2005 with Batista, Triple H, and Evolution. When the Animal won the Rumble, it seemed as though he would opt to face JBL for the WWE Championship. Instead, he famously power-bombed The Game through a table and announced himself to the world. Could we see a Samoan Spike heading Roman Reigns’ way in the new year?

Gunther

Gunther’s record-breaking Intercontinental title reign has arguably been more impressive than the Head of the Table’s stint with the main title(s). He has defeated everyone that has been put in front of him and he has done so cleanly, for the majority anyway. He has some victories over marquee names under his belt such as two-time WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, and the next step is surely the world title.

Last year, Gunther entered at number one and was the last man eliminated. Could that be a sign of things to come? Should the Ring General get the victory, he would likely face off against the World Heavyweight Champion and headline night one of ‘Mania, with Reigns and Rhodes main eventing on night two.
