Matt Riddle Reportedly “Burned Through Too Many Chances” – The release of Matt Riddle from WWE has generated significant attention and speculation. However, a new report from Fightful Select sheds light on the reasons behind Riddle’s departure and offers some clarifications.
Contrary to previous rumors, it was not part of WWE’s plans for Riddle to return to action on Monday’s RAW, as suggested. The speculation surrounding his return likely stemmed from outdated information. Riddle had been absent from WWE programming since September 4 due to a double ear infection and bronchitis, which occurred after the incident at JFK Airport.
Following the JFK Airport incident, Riddle was removed from WWE’s touring schedule, and he was not factored into immediate creative plans. During this time, he continued his grappling training and reportedly remained in good spirits.
The key factor in Riddle’s release, according to one WWE higher-up, was that he had “burned through too many chances” during his time with the company. This suggests that there were ongoing issues or concerns that contributed to the decision.
As part of his release, Riddle is subject to a 90-day non-compete clause, which means he will be free to sign with any promotion after December 21.
