Early Predictions for Extreme Rules 2019

Early Predictions for Extreme Rules 2019

Extreme Rules is one of the high points of WWE and the excitement is back after Stomping Grounds. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch facing Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans is a chance for
the latter two to get revenge, while Kofi Kingston defending his WWE Championship versus Samoa Joe in a Singles bout will be another highlight.

Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch vs. Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans

Two champions against the two they beat to win them, with the titles and feuds on the line. Corbin and Evans used Raw to demand this Mixed Tag Team Match and if they win they take the Universal and the Raw Women’s titles, but if they lose that is it. Rollins and Lynch are favourites as they just don’t lose to these opponents, although Evans usually gives Lynch a run for her money.

Kofi Kingston vs. Samoa Joe

This match pitches the WWE champ against a former US champion. It is happening because Joe staged a random attack on Kofi in the Raw broadcast on 24th June, including a uranage and a Coquina Clutch. Samoa Joe always gives any opponent a hard match, but Kofi will want revenge for what happened on Raw and will hold onto his WWE title.

Roman Reigns and the Undertaker vs. Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon

One of the easiest bouts to predict, it follows McMahon beating Reigns in the Super ShowDown and then the Undertaker stepping in to help Reigns during his Raw handicap bout against McMahon and McIntyre. No chance of the Undertaker and Reigns are losing here, although their opponents will make a fight of it.

Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss

This match is happening thanks to Nikki Cross beating Bayley to atone for getting in the way during the latter’s Stomping Ground win against Bliss. Bayley is predicted by most to hold onto her SmackDown Women’s Championship, but we could see the start of a new feud between Bliss and Cross in the aftermath.

Drew Gulak vs. Tony Nese

Gulak took the Cruiserweight crown from Nese during Stomping Grounds, although it was Akira Tozawa not the reigning champ that he actually pinned. Nese has a chance to reclaim the title after beating Tozawa on 205 Live, but Gulak won’t lose his crown so soon after finally winning it.

These are our predictions and they may be used for betting purposes. WWE is putting a lot into promoting the sport using social media and the content encourages fans to predict outcomes – with betting being the next logical step. Wrestling is not currently one of the 10 most popular sports to bet on, but the legalisation of sports gambling across much of the US is a game-changer, because of the size of the US market. That could enable a US-based sport like WWE break into the top 10.

Only a month to go now until Extreme Rules night and fans might be betting on as well as guessing the outcomes.
