Rusev Wins Gauntlet Match, WWE Title Match Set For Extreme Rules

Rusev Wins Gauntlet Match, WWE Title Match Set For Extreme Rules
The main event for this week’s episode of Smackdown Live featured Daniel Bryan vs. Big E vs. Samoa Joe vs. The Miz vs. Rusev in a gauntlet match to determine the number 1 contender for the WWE Championship.

In what may be a shock to some, Rusev ended up winning by making The Miz tap out to the Accolade. Styles came to the ring after the match and laid his title down in front of Rusev, and asked for a handshake. Rusev obliged, but when Aiden English asked for Styles hand, he rebuffed and mocked the champion. Styles decked English for the move, and Rusev asked why English did that as the show closed.

Rusev is the new number one contender and he will challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules. Here is the updated card:

Roman Reigns vs. Bobby Lashley vs. TBD vs. TBD vs. TBD vs. TBD

Raw Women’s Championship

Extreme Rules will take place at the PPG Paints Arena on Sunday, July 15
