Roman Reigns Outlasts Sami Zayn to Win Men's Crown Jewel Championship

The main event of WWE Crown Jewel 2026 saw World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns defeat Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn in a dramatic war, as Roman Reigns wins Crown Jewel Championship to close out the broadcast in Riyadh.

The high-stakes Champion vs. Champion encounter tested both titleholders physically and mentally, featuring multiple ref bumps, near-falls, and emotional post-match respect.

Main Event Match Highlights

The main event saw both champions exchange heavy strikes, high-impact counters, and emotional psychological warfare:

  • Early Control and Ringside Brawling: After tossing Zayn’s shirt in disgust, Reigns used his power advantage to control the opening minutes. Zayn turned the momentum by dumping Reigns over the top rope and driving him into the ringside barricade and announce table.
  • Mid-Match High Spots: Reigns cut off a turnbuckle attack with an uppercut and delivered the Drive By kick. Zayn countered with a sunset flip powerbomb off the turnbuckles and later connected with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a close near-fall.
  • Dive and Corner Exploders: Zayn launched a flipping dive through the ropes onto Reigns at ringside. Inside the ring, Zayn executed an exploder suplex into the turnbuckles and connected with a Helluva Kick.
  • Referee Chaos and Belt Interferences: The original referee was knocked unconscious by an accidental Superman punch from Reigns. When a replacement referee ran down, Zayn delivered a Helluva Kick to the new official and grabbed a championship belt, but Reigns intercepted him with a Superman punch and spear.
  • Slap Exchange and Psychological Warfare: Standing over his opponent, Reigns began a verbal barrage. Zayn answered by slapping Reigns across the face and demanding more punishment, absorbing heavy forearms and uppercuts before firing back.
  • Consecutive Spears Finish: Zayn ducked a Superman punch and hit another exploder suplex in the corner. After a rapid trade of signature counters—including a surprise Superman punch from Zayn—Reigns blocked a spear attempt, connected with a mid-air spear of his own, and immediately hit a second spear to earn the three-count.

Post-Match Embrace and Presentation

Following the grueling main event, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque entered the ring to present the Crown Jewel Championship to Reigns.

Zayn interrupted the initial celebration, approaching Reigns to demand respect after their battle. Reigns initially slapped Zayn’s hand away before pulling his former Bloodline ally into an emotional embrace, officially accepting the title and calling on the crowd to acknowledge him as the show concluded.
