Queen Aminata Addresses Unexpected AEW TBS Championship Win

Newly crowned champion Queen Aminata opened up about her AEW TBS Championship win, admitting she did not expect to leave the main event of AEW Dynamite holding gold.

Reflecting on her milestone victory over Persephone during the October 28 Fright Night Dynamite broadcast, Aminata released a video on her YouTube channel detailing the pre-match stress and the unexpected emotional aftermath of capturing her first AEW title.

Reflecting On Pre-Match Doubts And St. Louis Main Event

Sharing her candid perspective once the initial shock began to settle, Aminata revealed that entering the arena in St. Louis, Missouri, winning the title was not on her mental radar:

“I literally just got out of my room, and I feel like everything is sinking in now because throughout the day, like yesterday to today, I was under a lot of stress. Like, I was dealing with so much stuff. And to be honest, not expecting to win today. I was expecting to have this match and maybe have another belt for the pay-per-view.”

Despite anticipating that her match against Persephone would serve as a stepping stone toward a future pay-per-view opportunity, Aminata seized the moment in the broadcast main event. Overcoming outside interference from Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., Aminata delivered a headbutt and her signature Off With Her Head running knee strike to secure the pinfall victory.

Embracing Her First Championship Milestone In AEW

Reflecting on how the headlining bout unfolded, Aminata expressed deep pride in earning her breakthrough moment on AEW’s flagship program:

“But I feel like everything happens for a reason, and I couldn’t have imagined a better way to win this belt than main eventing Dynamite and against Persephone. Like, this is perfect. This is amazing. This is pretty. This is juicy. This is mine. I am your new TBS Champion.”
