Ric Flair Files $10 Million Lawsuit Against FAM Networks Over Name And Likeness Rights

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has launched a $10 million lawsuit against influencer talent agency FAM Networks, accusing the firm of fraudulently tricking him into signing away the perpetual rights to his name, image, and likeness (NIL).

According to court filings obtained by The Independent, Flair claims the agency promised to build a robust six-figure monthly revenue stream by taking over management of his digital platforms—commitments he states were never fulfilled.

Allegations Of Fraud & Unlawful Social Media Control

The legal complaint paints a picture of deliberate predatory tactics, alleging FAM Networks took advantage of the wrestling legend while he was seeking digital management assistance.

“What FAM did was simple: it waited until he needed help managing the digital legacy of everything he had built, presented him with a document he was not equipped to understand, told him he had lawyers when he did not, gave him fourteen minutes to read it, and walked away with a perpetual license to his identity,” the filing details.

The suit asserts that Flair has already suffered at least $250,000 in lost revenue under the structure. Furthermore, FAM allegedly seized operational control of his social media profiles, altering their classification settings to prevent Flair from recovering them while continuing to monetize his personal brand without issuing contractually obligated royalty shares.

“FAM pledged 50 percent to Flair for ‘collaborative projects,’ and 10 percent for ‘passive content,’” the lawsuit claims.

Additionally, FAM allegedly promised to restore Flair’s “hacked, demonetized” Facebook page, projecting it could pull in six figures per month. The filing alleges FAM generated up to $20,000 monthly off the Facebook page alone while paying Flair nothing:

“These were not aspirations. They were contractual obligations. FAM delivered none of them. It sourced not one speaking engagement. Not one in-person appearance. Not one personal project at the ninety percent royalty tier. It reposted existing content.”

Legal Remedies & Relief Sought

Flair is asking the court to officially rescind the contract, return full control of his Facebook page, and issue a declaratory judgment stating FAM holds no rights over his identity. The filing also demands a comprehensive financial accounting of all revenues collected using his likeness.

Financial claims include:

$5 million in compensatory damages for breach of contract.
$5 million in compensatory and punitive damages for fraudulent inducement.
Additional damages under New York Civil Rights Law, tortious interference with prospective economic advantage, unjust enrichment recovery, and legal fee compensation.
