Newly crowned AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Moné held a grand championship celebration during the September 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, only for former champion Thekla to crash the party and confront “The CEO.”
Moné captured the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW All In 2026 at Wembley Stadium, defeating rival Willow Nightingale in a physical bout to secure the top prize in the division.
Moné Addresses All In Win & Reveals Broken Nose
Moné’s celebration featured a red carpet, balloons, roses, and framed photos of her title victory displayed inside the ring. Addressing the crowd, Moné stated she hasn’t stopped smiling since Sunday, reiterating that she came to AEW because it was the place where the “Women’s Revolution” could truly be globalized.
Reflecting on her journey to becoming a 4-company World Champion, Moné took off her oversized hat to reveal a noticeably broken nose, attributing the injury to her physical war with Nightingale.
“Willow Nightingale did nothing but push me towards history, so look who’s smiling now,” Moné said, boasting that she took Nightingale’s smile, her title, and established her kingdom atop the AEW women’s division.
Thekla Crashes The Party From The Crowd
As Moné raised a shot of tequila to toast her championship, Thekla interrupted the segment by emerging through the crowd holding her own drink.
While acknowledging Moné’s legendary career, Thekla noted that despite all of Moné’s accomplishments, she had never been “Toxic.” Thekla thanked Moné for humiliating Nightingale, but took issue with Moné’s frequent use of her favorite insult.
“Since you’ve been gone, you’ve been calling people ‘dumb btch.’ And if there’s one thing I hate more than a dumb btch, it’s another dumb btch calling people dumb btch, ya dumb btch,”* Thekla declared.
Thekla made it clear that while Moné holds the CEO title, she doesn’t work for her, warning the new champion to let her know when she’s ready to hand the title back. Thekla then struck her signature “Spider” pose over the ringside barricade, setting up an intense face-off between the two stars to end the segment.
