Nick Aldis Reveals How His Dream Entrance Music Became Reality at SummerSlam

Nick Aldis didn’t just prepare for his first WWE match at SummerSlam — he got to live out something he had imagined since childhood. Before stepping into the ring with GUNTHER, Aldis experienced a moment he never thought would happen: walking onto a WWE stage with the exact entrance music he had always dreamed of using.

During an appearance on WWE Now with Sam Roberts, Aldis opened up about the preparation behind his SummerSlam debut and how a conversation with Paul “Triple H” Levesque led to one of the most personal moments of his career. Aldis explained that Oasis’ “Morning Glory” had been the soundtrack he envisioned for himself long before he ever stepped into the wrestling business.

He said the song was something he used to imagine during his earliest years as a fan, picturing himself making an entrance right as the track’s signature beat kicked in. As he grew older and learned how licensing worked, he assumed the idea was impossible and pushed it out of his mind.

“‘Morning Glory’ was like, I would always listen to that song, and I would always visualize this would be a killer entrance song. I’m talking about when I was a kid… and then as you sort of progress in the business and you start to sort of figure out how things work, I sort of put it to the back of my mind — ‘That’s not likely, that’s not gonna happen.’”

That changed just weeks before SummerSlam. Aldis revealed that Triple H reached out unexpectedly and asked him what song he would choose if WWE could license absolutely anything. The question immediately brought “Morning Glory” back to the forefront.

“And then Hunter texted me a couple weeks ago and said ‘Perfect world, if you could have any music, we could license any music for you, any song, nothing is off the table.’ And I kind of went through my sort of mental, I went ‘fcking Morning Glory.’… I suddenly went ‘Ah, Morning Glory.’ And I was like ‘Wow, I thought it won’t happen, but I’ve got to ask.’”*

Aldis ultimately walked into SummerSlam with the entrance music he had imagined since childhood, creating a moment that blended his past as a fan with his present as a WWE performer. Although he came up short against GUNTHER in his debut match, the night still marked a milestone he never expected to experience.

Following SummerSlam, Aldis returned to his role as SmackDown General Manager, resuming the position he had held before stepping away to prepare for his in‑ring debut. The match may not have ended in victory, but the experience — and the entrance that came with it — delivered something far more personal.
