A short clip from an independent wrestling event sparked concern this week after EC3 appeared noticeably off during his entrance. The video, which circulated widely on social media, showed him limping and looking physically compromised, leading fans to speculate about his health and overall condition. With questions spreading quickly, one of EC3’s closest friends stepped forward to address the situation directly.
Rockstar Spud, also known to WWE audiences as Drake Maverick, shared a detailed statement after speaking with EC3 about what happened that night. The conversation provided context that was missing from the viral footage and helped explain why EC3 looked the way he did during the entrance.
Spud Provides Context Behind EC3’s Appearance
Spud explained that EC3 had been dealing with a combination of physical strain and exhaustion before the event. According to Spud, EC3 described a demanding travel schedule, multiple flights, and a heavy training session immediately after landing. On top of that, he was already working through a leg injury. Spud included EC3’s own words to illustrate how the situation unfolded.
“Add in disrupted sleep, meal timing, hydration and hours of travel, and my digestive system was completely off schedule. My Gl tract could not produce my usual shit myself lean before hand.”
Spud also clarified that the clip came from the second match of a one‑night story in which EC3 was selling the effects of an earlier injury. He emphasized that EC3 was already hurt but continued performing through the pain.
“The video circulating is taken from match two of a one night story, where he is selling the effects of a leg from earlier (which is already really hurt but working as mentioned he through injury).”
In his message, Spud urged fans to consider the real person behind the footage rather than jumping to conclusions. He noted that he was concerned enough to reach out directly, and after speaking with EC3, he felt reassured.
“Please consider the real human being behind what you post but I appreciate everyone’s concern as I myself was concerned enough to ask. I love my friend. I believe he is good.”
EC3 returned to TNA Wrestling in April and competed in two matches before stepping away again. While his current status remains unclear, Spud’s comments suggest that the viral video reflected a combination of fatigue, injury, and storytelling rather than a more serious issue.
