EC3 Confirms Departure From NWA – Former NWA World Heavyweight Champion EC3 has officially announced that his time with the National Wrestling Alliance has come to an end. The 42-year-old revealed the news on Thursday, January 1, 2026, taking to X on the first day of the new year to confirm his departure without providing specific details regarding the split.
In a multi-image farewell post, EC3 reflected on his run within the promotion, highlighting moments, matches, and accomplishments that defined his tenure. Among those, he noted his role in helping establish Exodus Pro as what he described as the NWA’s first official territory under its modern structure. While he stopped short of explicitly stating his next move, EC3 strongly suggested that his in-ring career is far from over.
“I’m grateful for the opportunities I was given and the people I shared the work with,” EC3 wrote, framing his exit as one of appreciation rather than conflict.
EC3 joined Billy Corgan’s version of the NWA in August 2022 and quickly became one of the promotion’s most prominent figures. He made the NWA his primary wrestling home over the following two years, ultimately wrestling his final official NWA match in September 2025. His most significant accomplishment during that run came in August 2023, when he captured the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. EC3 held the title for 370 days, reigning until August 2024 and serving as the centerpiece of the promotion throughout that period.
In addition to his world title reign, EC3 also held the NWA National Championship for 93 days in 2023, further cementing his status as one of the company’s top stars during his tenure. His presence was frequently positioned as a bridge between the NWA’s traditional identity and its modern presentation.
Prior to his NWA run, EC3 built a well-traveled résumé across several major promotions. He previously competed in WWE, Ring of Honor, and TNA Wrestling, where he enjoyed some of the most successful years of his career. In TNA, EC3 was a two-time World Champion and also held the Grand Championship, achievements that helped establish him as a main-event-level performer nearly a decade ago.
With his departure now confirmed, attention will turn to what comes next for EC3 in 2026, as his farewell message made it clear that this chapter is a closing, not an ending.
