Darby Allin has pulled off stunts that look impossible, but one of them came dangerously close to ending badly. While speaking with 8 News Now Las Vegas, Allin was reminded of a drowning angle he once filmed with Jon Moxley. Instead, his mind went straight to a real moment where things almost went wrong.
Allin explained that during last year’s Shark Week filming, he attempted a kickflip at the bottom of the ocean while surrounded by 15 sharks.
“When you said the drowned one, I was filming Shark Week last year, and I was trying to kickflip at the bottom of the ocean with 15 sharks around my head, and then I ran out of oxygen, and I remember almost drowning there.”
He admitted he initially thought the interviewer was referring to that incident. For most people, almost drowning underwater while trying to skateboard with sharks overhead would be enough to stop doing stunts altogether.
But Allin has built his career on pushing himself into extreme situations. He’s taken frightening bumps in AEW and even performed a kickflip at the top of Mount Everest. The Shark Week moment, however, carried a very different kind of danger with no mat, no ring, and no way to stop once things went wrong.
Now, the near‑drowning has become another story Allin can casually mention in an interview — just part of the life he continues to lead.
